G'day All, Time for some more pics, can't believe how long it's been since the last We can't get the net as easily as Daggsey either - no thanks to o_t_s so our posts are'nt as regular - besides i'm to busy ;D Spotted this sign near where we camped at Isisford i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/kingdigger/031-6.jpgGreat spot, right alongside a weir Hows this collection of goodies - found 'em at the site of the wool scourer in Blackall (Jackie Howe country) One for Cobber THE black stump - Blackall A Daggsey shot Spotted this roadtrain coming through Mungallala (stopover)while sitting on the verandah of the pub, then noticed it slowing and parking up - shoulda seen me go - turns out the precious load was bound for the Winton transport museum. the primemover itself was a classic, an early seventies AUTOCAR I could not believe the resto job on the first truck (the white dodge) - only to be told it has a mere 4000 miles travelled from new- it's still new (318 V8) One for Kabee - A large poo truck And one for Firefighter Daggsey & Lorraine made up this picture/frame for us when we lost our ''Gert'' - How goods that - Mez cried At Mitchell Lately i've been working at Dalby carting water to the gas fields for Queensland gas - 12 hour days, 10 on 5 off It's good money, so might havta stay a while ;D We suck it outa ere' Trucks used are mainly ex fuel tankers Then we head out to the gas fields, open the valves to empty into another holding dam - where its used for a number of things at a rate of 40 truck loads a day Catch Ya's on the next one Kingy

Hi Kingy I have a niece in Dalby & have visited a few times up that way. What a great set of photos on this posting ;D, it is most enjoyable & relaxing to read that camp spot looks the best, shower set up behind the van, love all that ;D :)The Zephyr ute brings back memories, they had/have a terrific exhaust note Also the tanker driving would be the ultimate fill in job I reckon, how many loads would you manage in the 12 hour day? Cheers. Surf Tragic.

G'day Gang, Well it's hot thirsty weather up here at Dalby and we've finally weakened and invested in an air con. We intended to be miles away down south for the summer, but while this jobs still on - we're stay'in put. I have fitted the air con so that it is quick and easy to remove when not needed - it can be set up in no more than five minutes and removed even quicker, iv'e also attatched a couple of carry handles. It sits on the floor when travelling. We thought about one of those portable jobby's that sit on the floor, but did'nt like the idea of it taking up valuable space. We bought it on line out of Brisbane, and had it delivered to the park we're staying at for $350 which i think is quite reasonable - it's a kelvinator/electrolux- and not reverse cycle Sure will make our stay here a bit easier to bare

Hi Gang, not much has happened here in Dalby other than it looks like the job we're on is finishing real soon, so might be hitting the road within a week or so ;D ;D and heading for the coast. Here's a peek at what i've been involved in over the last month or so at work These walls in front have been built over the last three months, and most of the water we've been carting has been used in their construction - compaction, dust control etc. - And what's with the walls you ask - Well, this in one of many ''holding ponds'' that hold salt water which is extracted when drilling for gas. ( this one is concidered a ''small'' pond ) I'm not sure of the next process, but the salt is somehow separated from the water - Note the crew working on the floor, four men plus machinery Shame this jobs coming to an end, it's been good We visited ''Jimbour Station'' recently and what a magic step back in time it is, although no entry is allowed inside you can spend ages just looking around the grounds which house vegie gardens, workers quarters, stables, aircraft hanger, pool, tennis court etc. There is so much to read (as well as hundreds of old photos) of it's history as you wander Jimbour House has appeared in a number of TV series also, and is just a short drive from Dalby a

Crikey, Kingies! Now you're really laying it on thick!! How do you think you're making the rest of us feel?
To paraphrase one of our poets:
I had written him an email which I had, for want of better Knowledge, sent to where I saw him on the PC a day ago, He was caravanning when I saw him, so I sent the email to him, Just `on spec', addressed as follows, `Kingy@The Gwydir flow'.
In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Kingy Gone a-camping `down the river' where those with inside knowledge go; As the fish are slowly swimming, Kingy glides behind them floating, For the caravanner's life has pleasures that we who stay at home don't know.
I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy Ray of light shines from the PC screen between the filing cabinets tall, And the paperwork o'erflowing on my desk full and groaning Threatens to o'erpower and devour me, and spread its paralysis over all
And I somehow rather fancy that I'd like to change with Kingy, Like to take a turn at caravanning where the sunsets come and go, While he faced the round eternal of the cash-book and the journal -- But I doubt he'd suit the office, Kingy, of `The Gwydir flow'.
[Sorry Mez, I'm not meaning to leave you out - I'm just not clever enough to adapt the words from one person to two.]
Don Ricardo (with apologies to A B Paterson ;D ;D ;D )
