G'day Kingys, Great to see some photos of your trip, so thanks for taking the time to share them with those of us who are stuck at home. At least the photos transport us away from the humdrum of everyday non-V V life for a few minutes. ;D ;D ;D Sounds like the trip is going well. Enjoy! Don Ricardo

Hi Reddo, don't like your chances much of him remembering where he came from, he can't remember YESTERDAY, I think it's to do with VB or CARLTON or maybe 4 JOBS in 4 weeks or just chilling out. He is from south of the border anyway plus he would be the only bloke i know who hates football, but rest ashore i know who to go for Cheers Mez

Well Reddo, what are ya wait'in for - DO IT . i was'nt joking when i said earlier that i've no intention of going home - well certainly not this year anyway, and if we do, it'll only be for a visit ;D And you've left the council you say - COME ON, ya wan't me and Daggsey to come down and grab ya by the scruff Like Mez said, i'm on my 4th job in 4 weeks - so there's no shortage of work up here, people who are traveling through all do the same till they find the work that suit s their needs, whether it be in the sugar industry or not - i now feel iv'e the job that suits us. At the moment it looks like we'll be here a while yet - thats the beauty of not being tied down in any way, just move on when things become unenjoyable. Give it some serious thought my friend we' re not getting any younger you know ( you've only gotta look around the van park ) So, shove someone inya house, pick a car & van, grab Trish and head north, (leave your winter cloths home) we'll save a spot for ya's ;D ;D Hey Will, thanks for the invite, and when we're over your way we'll make a point of catching up again - you can be sure of that - say hello to Lyn for us Chev's look'in the goods toooo Must go and mingle, i do believe it's happy hour again Cheers Kingy & Mez - by the way, who won the footy

Hi Gang, Well not a lots happened lately due to me still hauling cane, it's hard to believe we've been here at Ayr now for 2 mths - but our days here are numbered, as we're heading to Charters Towers soon, soon as a replacement for me is found on the cane. There's always someone (90% travellers) ready to take your spot, the industry see's a lot of drivers come and go, and a lot come back every year. It's been a real eye-opener, but we're getting itchy feet, and feel it's time to move on. We ''burn'' 3-4 times a week - At first it was a real BUZZ This is Groper Creek - they get a lot of water come through here, all buildings are above ground level, including garages/carports.The caravan park is on ground level though - i presume they are forwarned of the coming waters The King's Camp Recently we had a heap of veteran cars & trucks stay for a week, this fire truck was the pick of them - the first time it has been so far away from home (Townsville) - it was trucked in, and it was immaculate. It also had solid rubber tyres Till we get to Charters towers, cheers from the Kings

Thought you'd like it F/F, truck is a ''Dennis'' which as you'd know is the only fire truck to have, and it's fully operational Makes one wonder - these vehicles which are obviously not real quick- how many fires did they attend, only to find it was all over ;D Kingy

Hi Gang, been a while a while since we last reported in, so thought i better give ya's a bit of an update. We left Ayr 3 weeks ago, and have since travelled through Charters towers - Fletchers creek - Torrens creek - Hughenden - Winton - Longreach, and we are now at Ilfracombe. Still having a ball, with no intention of going home this year - SO FAR. Caught up with Daggsey and Carrots at Hughenden and spent a few days together - Allways good to see'em again We've had some drama's along the way, but nothing to major, and certainly nothing to deter us in any way - It's all good. We had a rough few days last week when we lost one of our two travelling companions - our chihuahua of fourteen years, who had to be put down at Charters Towers - then a broken windscreen - then holed the side of the van - But this last weeks been great ;D ;D Here's a few shots Our ''Gert'' keeping guard Recognise the dude on the other side ;D I'd prefer not to comment on this Double Trouble 400 k's of nuth'in - Hughenden to Longreach via Winton Fletchers Creek, nth. of Charteres Towers - Roughed it for a week, using water from the creek & gen power ;D ;D These outback parks don't come with much grass Stockmans hall of fame - longreach Catch Ya's next time kingy & Mez

Spose i'd better fess up Cruz & Reddo, it was i that was behind the wheel when the hole appeared in the side of the van - that clothes line just happened to be behind a pub (Torrens Creek) that had powered sites - i'll say no more ;D ;D Re the windscreen Reddo, no cost - one free windscreen plus fitting per year - Shannons, and yes it's a lammo ;D Oh and that FLAT look'in truck that looks like a UFO - owned by a towing co. Hey Kingy (and Daggsey and other travellers), I was talking to my accountant last nite about working hols and she pointed out that for example in your case if you move on from the sugar cane work and travel to another spot to put down pegs and deck chairs and pick up some more work you can claim travel expenses etc to get to the new location/job on your tax! That would seem well worth following up on if you are not aware already jennison.
