Electolux fridge, toaster, fan, jaffle cooker, fan heater, jug, 2 burner gas stove, full set of crockery , cutlery and cooking tools……… No sink….. bewdy mate , no washing up. Gotta be happy with that!!!
View south. Double bed, notice 2 rods and reels plus scoop rack on celing.
View north. Seating for two at the table, huge wardrobe on the left. The van has 6 hinge open windows with the back one fixed. All have roller blinds. 6 double power points with two four foot fluros for inside lights.
The awning was in the roof of the blokes shed. I asked about it and he gave me it . I got home and made the brackets out of old bed head brackets,
I tensioned the spring and it returns neatly against the side of the van when it retracts.
While we where getting it down out of the roof of the shed he said that his grandad had died and everything in the shed was going to the tip. He and his son wherent into tools and nuts and bolts and I was welcome to take what I wanted.
I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!!!
. Me and my two sons spent two hours loading the landcruiser with the old engineers tools as well as about 8 Kg of stainless steel nuts bolts and washers.
I asked him about three times to accept some money for the tools . both he and his son refused and they kept saying I was doing them a favour other wise they would have to order 2 skips to get the “junk” to the tip.
Anyway back to the van .Sure looks like something out of the 50’s don’t it Story is it was built in 2004 by the then 78 year old engineer grandad then he registered it. It went to Forster for a week or so in 2005. He bought it home , pulled the wheels off it and stuck it in the shed and that’s where it sat Until the old fella kicked on. the young bloke advertised it on eBay last week…… Thanks for the tip Earlee , I owe you a beer or two.
Not sure what to do with it yet, but I can see myself being spoilt with a good electric fridge. She sure got a work out on New Years Eve. Managed to put a carton through it. You know the routine…. Grab one out of the freezer and replace it with one from the fridge shelf….. and replace that one with one from the carton…..By the time I was retrieving em from the little freezer they where dang near frozen.
Cheers and happy New Year … reddo
