Hello Everyone,
Just a question, my Kingswood's back end is a bit saggy from towing the caravan and I have been told I should get helper springs, does anyone know what type would fit a Hx Holden Kingswood? Im not very car savvy so any help would be appreciated!

Hi there Gabriel.
I own a HZ Wagon and have been 'helping' work on the beasts since I was able to walk.
Can't say I have ever heard of 'helper' springs before. I can definitely recommend heading to a suspension expert as Mark suggested and explaining to them exactly what your using your HX for.
My 5 cents.... Ask for Heavy Duty or towing pack springs to help support the caravan. Another option that is on many Kingswood wagons (I would assume they can be fitted to sedans) is Air Adjustable Shock Absorbers. Basically if you've loaded the old girl up with the van or even just a mountain of stuff in the boot, call in to the servo and literally add more air through an air valve to help support the weight.

"IRON MAN " helpers work great.
And they are an Australian built.

Springs and their related mounts are what is there to carry the loads, if it's dragging it's bum then stronger springs are the go. I remember from my time as a mechanic at a GM dealership when HQ's were new ,that the lower shock mountings on HQ's were inclined to break out of the lower trailing arm mounts that they were welded into, which is fairly light guage steel.....when that happens there's nothing to stop the spring from dropping out on a large dip in the road.......not good.

Thank you all for your help, Ha ha Mark, I tried my hardest not to say saggy bum but that's what she has got My dad has been in contact with iron man and was a bit nervous about them being generic but it seems like that's the way they are all going. Air shocks is just to technical for my old girl we are trying to keep her as orginial as possible, and before you say anything Mark, the chrome rocker cover isnt original but it's pretty!!! Thank you all again
