When i first found this site someone had said how addicted they had become to old vans. I thought this would never happen to me, but i'm finding myself spending weekends driving to small rural towns trying to find vans just for the sake of it! My friends think i've lost it. Found this one in a Melb suburb, have spoken to a friend of the owner who has said that it is for sale but the guy has had offers up to $3000. Going by the yard and the amount of "projects" this bloke is "gunna" do, i think that it will take a bit of convincing to sell it. Van is located on Blackshaws Rd, Altona Nth .Sorry I don't have any other details .http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72/snorks/IMG_1116.jpg[/IMG]

John,
Welcome to our nightmare!!!!
Ever wonder how many of these fibreglass vans ...that I can honestly say I had never seen..anywhere on the road, ...are sitting around decaying???....this site has seen a heap of them appear..and that is only since January!!
I too have a :problem" keeping my eyes on the road out bush!
Saw a cracker over Easter...caught a side view of an old bondwood shape amongst a few trees deep in a paddock....closer look revealed that ..that was all there was...a side.....no front, back, other side or roof!!!!
Be warned as I was....you can't stop at one!!!!
Cheers,
Marc

If the owner is an accountant, how fast really are his returns? ? Going by this gunna job, you could end up getting a "please explain" from Mr Howard!!!!

Hi John, I too have seen that van. Its a Kennedy caravan made in Glen Waverley in the sixties. He only made 15 @16 footers in his backyard, this one has Zephyr tail lights and a small boot! Fantastic lookig van in its day! Its sad to see it rotting away. I know of an identical one in good nick not far from me but they wont part with it. ( they seem to think that if someone walks of the street and offers to buy then it must be worth muuuuuch more!) Cheers Hughdeani

Hi Guys. This is my first post, so I don't want to disagree, but. The van pictured is a 1962 Wayfarer. I had one. It has Zephyr tail lights on small fins & a boot. I will try & post a photo of the one I had & the advert in a magazine.

Hi Trev, Been meaning to get my act together & get on this site for ages, but just kept forgetting. Sadly the van was sold. The guy who had it, sold it on before I had a chance to retrieve it from his property. My fault for not having time to go & get it, or store it anywhere. But, I have organised to go for a drive tomorrow to look at a Wayfarer 12". It is supposed to be in excellent condition & is fully registered still. I will let you know how I go. Regards, Rob J

the tail lights look fairly similar to a 1960 zephyr.. maybe they are? Zephyrs had a bit of a fin as well. I love the look!
