My name is John McCorkelle and i live in Melbourne. I recently found this van in a caravan park in Porpunkah. After making inquiries and waiting for months to find out weather or not it was for sale , i finally bought it. Needs a bit of work, but tows well. Not sure how clear the photo's are, but the roof and one side has been covered with aluminium, leaving only the door side in wood. Just bought a house with a shed so work will begin soon to re-skin the whole thing. The Morris isn't mine, it's my 19 year old brother's. He also has a Speedster Deluxe teardrop ( a work in progress ) This was taken on it's maiden trip from Bendigo to Melbourne. He then went on to Lorne the following day.He tells me it was the longest two days of his life! thanks John

Not sure or make or year of the van, haven't found any markings. When i bought it, the bloke told me that his old man had built the frame, so i'm assuming that it's a home-made.

Hi Mark, Would you mind posting these photo's for me. Well since i last posted photo's of my van a lot has happened! In my last message i told you all that i would be moving into a new house with a shed so work could begin. After final inspection and kissing my financial life away, I promptly sized up the roller door only to find that it was too low! After quite a few beers and a fair amount of swearing, my brother and I decided that we would bolt heavy duty casters to the frame, tow the van from his place (5mins around the corner) drop the van onto the casters and winch it into the carport. 3 drill bits, more beer, a couple of months and a lot more swearing the big day arrived. Set out early that morning, got the lights rigged up and off we went. 5mins later we were in the back lane ready to drop onto the castors. As you can imagine this was going to be tricky, especially as we only have one $25 hydraulic jack. Before taking wheels and axle off we decided that we'd see how close it would go, and you guessed it....... it fits!!!! So this really boosted my convidence. Here i am taking on a restoration project and I can't even read a measuring tape !! Anyway, I had already removed the alliminium on the side so this just left the roof which came off in half a day exposing the work to come. After further inspection, we've decided that not only does the ply need to be replaced, but so does most of the uprights. Some sort of soft wood has been used ( it's so soft you can push nails in with your thumb ) Run out of money again, so it will be a little while before work starts up again. Cheers. John & Stuart
