Here's the plain old tiles in my 66 Valiant that my Dad puchased brand new. A close up. I guess Valiant really is the poor man's Viscount!!! No pretty bright colours here. Cheers Janelle

SGTL The colours in that third photo of yours, the 1947 van are interesting. It shows how common popular green yellow black and red on a grey background were in the 1940s & 50s Just look through this thread, particularly the first post, after that they appear to have had their day. Cobber.

G'day SGTL, thanks for reposting those photos, there's those colours again, plus blue, in yet another pattern.
Bad news about your imageShack photos, they were supposed to keep their 'free accounts' available until 31st January 2016, is that what you had, a free account ?
Cobber.

Yes Cobber, it was a free account. When writing up the instructions for posting photos, I went back to imageshack & saw that it was no longer free. Thought blow that, I simply won't use it anymore. At that stage, my photos were still there. Now they have all disappeared plus any links I used on here. Hopefully not too many but still a shame. it does make me nervous about photobucket though

Thanks Cobber i'm pretty impressed with myself lol i may have not stuck them down with convential tiling stuff and may have used about 10 times more stuff than was needed but the great news is those tiles are going no where - not much luck on the stains and I'm not prepared to risk it with wire wool so I'm going to embrace the stains as part of the vans history! Manxie x

The Lino on the floor in a 1940s home made van looks like it is pretty well worn, the photo doesn't do it justice But, the same Lino, in the same van, on the kitchen bench top ( no fancy laminex in this van. ) looks just as worn, which I doubt it would have been. So the Lino on the floor has lasted well. Cobber.

This is the Lino in our yet to be identified Bondwood. Same pattern as per the Ramsey Caravan earlier in the thread but in Blue. Hopefully it will come up nicely with a clean

I just found this in my van, then rushed inside to check out this thread. Sadly I am still no closer to identifying it as 30's/40's or 50's.

Here's some lino - not in a van, but rather under the carpet in one of our bedrooms due for a reno. we are hoping we can salvage some usable bits. There is newspaper from the 1950s underneath so hopefully some more interesting finds there too and I would guess that would giveaway the lino's age also.
