Hi Hughdeany and Selena,
I agree with Hughdeany's comment. Where did you get the number from Selena?

Hi Selena,
From the information I've seen from the Chesney family, from 1968 until the end of the business Chesney used a serial number format that included a code for the date. The format consisted of two letters which indicated the month and year of manufacture and some numbers which were the production numbers.
The number you have quoted 'QPP-277' does not match the usual format, which is a bit puzzling. Can you show us a photo of the serial number please, or are there any other letters & numbers on the drawbar? It may be that the information about the serial number format is not correct (ie it wasn't used right through to the end of production), but it would be interesting to work out what is going on with your number.

Hi WireTalents, Thanks for picking me up on the date for the Auction. I also found an error in the date for the Trading Tables! I obviously didn't have my brain in gear when I typed that! I've corrected the original post, and just to be clear, the dates are: SWAP/SELL/BUY TRADING TABLES - Saturday morning, 27 April
CHARITY AUCTION - Sunday, 28 April at 3.00 pmDon Ricardo

2024 VINTAGE CARAVAN NATIONALS ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES 1. SWAP/SELL/BUY TRADING TABLES - Saturday morning, 27 April
A number of people like to have an opportunity to set up a swap/sell trading table. The best time for that will be on the morning of Saturday the 27th. Saturday is intended as an "in house" day when Nationals attendees will be free to wander the caravan park, meet each other and visit each others' vans. So clear out your sheds and cupboards and bring all those bits and pieces that you'll never need, but may be just be what another vintage vanner is looking for. 2. CHARITY AUCTION - Sunday, 28 April at 3.00 pmIt has become a bit of a tradition at the Nationals to hold an auction with all the proceeds going to charity. The auction is a lot of fun, allows you to bid for an item to add to your van or collection, and raises funds for a worthy charity as well. So bring ONE ITEM PER ATTENDING CARAVAN to contribute to the auction that may be worth 10, 20, 40 or 100 dollars to another vintage vanner, so that you can contribute to the funds raised. Items for the auction may include goods, services or subscriptions. And if you can't find anything at home for the auction, maybe you can drop in to a second hand shop on the way to the Nationals and buy something for the auction table? (Sorry, that's a cheeky suggestion, but why not? )

Hi Leaeschy, It's great to hear about your van, and it would be excellent to see some photos. There's information on how to do that if you click on this link. The easiest way is to use the 'Add Attachment' button in the posting window, but let me know if you have any trouble. Don Ricardo

Hi Koala,
I think that the Park hasn't done a final allocation of sites yet because people have been able to nominate being part of a group so that they can be located close by. The Park has had to wait until all the sites are booked and they can then start grouping people together where they've nominated a group (given that not all group members booked at the same time). I think they're almost at the point of allocating sites. At least that's what I understand is happening.

Hi Skitsobunny, Welcome to the Forum and thanks for showing us some photos of your new project. I can't help you regarding the doors and windows, but I've checked the Viscount register compiled by Forum member Twocutekelpies and V7271 would have been produced in December 1982 or January 1983. Hope that helps. Don Ricardo
