If anyone is still interested, I'm on the up and up, works no longer a problem other than I still need to go each week to pay the bills, can go all day now and not get knackered, still not much done on the projects as money is still in short supply but I have not given up hope yet and still look forward to getting back into them, as for my weight, well I'm getting "FAT" again, now at 88kgs but still not to bad, just had two weeks in sunny Qld where I caught up with gregh and cruisin-doug for a chat and catch up, next visit to the surgeon is 22nd Dec, till then.

That interior looks fantastic Dennis, definitely worth the wait I say and it looks as comfy as all get out, I'm sure Sue will like travelling in this one more than the Hot Rod

G'day tashlowe, I'm heading into Warragul on Wednesday and can take a look at this van for you, I am by no means an expert though, what are your main concerns or areas that concern you, I can take photos of any areas you are interested in. Regards Derk.

Hello all, just a quick update on my health, working full time now with no problems and have spent the last 2 weekends out in my shed with plans to do the same this weekend, I have been doing a little work on my Panel van resto and am hoping to maybe take a closer look at the Roadcruiser to determine a plan of attack when time permits.

G'day JBJ, yes you are right in that Doctors are still learning themselves but they can only work with what they have at their disposal every day they learn something new, my Surgeon has done three more ops like mine since he did me, with me he went in through my back, the next two he did was both keyhole and an incision through the neck and the last he did completely keyhole so even he is still learning after having done god knows how many of these Ivor Lewis jobs, but all is good so I no complain

Okay, so further to my last update where I was suffering nausea, it got worse, to the point I took myself back to hospital for three days to get over it, this helped and I saw my oncologist the following thursday where he told me to stop any further tablets I had and I just went forward in leaps and bounds from there, I have now been back at work full time for about two months now and it is all good, I went to see my surgeon on the 1st of June and he was pleased with how I was going, he asked when I next saw the oncologist which is on the 2nd of September, he said fine come back and see me in December, so there you have it, my weight is sitting steady around 81-82 kg but my stamina is not yet back, I find I can only manage a few hours at a time when the work get to heavy so most things are taking a lot longer to complete but I'm hoping it will get better with time.

Just another update for those who are interested, saw my Surgeon last week, he took one look at me and said " I don't know what you are doing but keep doing it and come back and see me in June" have started my next round of chemo but in hindsight I would rather not have started, I feel like absolute crap, but as they say "no pain no gain"

Good to hear you both got home safe, I trust the weather isn't to bad up there and that it passes with out doing damage, a little hint from me Dennis, I have multiple keys on different key rings, that way there is always a key somewhere

Saw my surgeon this afternoon and he could not have been happier, pathology said that it was an aggressive tumor (7 cms in size) with some nasties involved but all the margins were clear and there was no evidence of migration to any lymph nodes so all is good, next step is to see the oncologist next week to organize some follow up chemo.

Hello all, well been a little over a week now that I've been home and feeling better all the time other than sleep which eludes me, still have a bit of tenderness where the two large drain tubes were so it keeps me awake, can only get an hour or two at a time plus a few nanna naps during the day helps. Eating isn't to bad either but have to be carefull I don't over do it or I pay the price till it settles which isn't fun, even a cup of tea can be to much but other wise I'm doing good, can drive the car okay and have even had the FJ out and about, may even go to a car show Sunday to get some sun and fresh air.

Well I am doing really good so far, I have moved on and am now on a soft food diet, custards, yogurts, ice creams and the like will hopefully start puréed food today or tomorrow and maybe home by Midweek, I am now walking around on my own so I no longer have to carry the nurses, this morning before breakfast I think I did about 12 laps, off for a nice shower now so will call back later.

Well Well Well, who's been a lucky boy then, lost a bit more weight on Saturday probably only a few grams but lost it any way, plus one large Tumor which is now stored in the freezer for further training of new Doctors, I don't really care what they do with it now so long as they don't try putting it back. Got my my room at 1.00 Sunday afternoon from ICU have spent many hours sitting the chair and yesterday I did three laps of the floor that I am on one at a time, today I did three laps in the morning and have got back into bed after having done another three around lunch time and plan another three before the days out. So far all I get is crushed ice to keep my mouth moist, tomorrow we do some x-Rays while I drink a contrast to see if the join is leaking if it don't we then get to drink fluids and if it does we get nothing still for a few more days but I have no concerns, all the staff here and even my surgeon are surprised at how well I have bounced back after the surgury, so thus far all is GOOD.

Okay, so I now have a date for my surgery, 17th January, came away from the surgeons office today with a heap of info plus another referral for yet another PET scan, it appears there are now a couple of Lymph nodes at question, so get that done soon and then back to surgeon for more info on the 13th, he is talking keyhole to begin with to loosen all the bits he needs to work on then they will roll me onto my side and cut me so they can get in through the ribs to finish the job after having deflated my right lung, there after it is all about recovery, which I can say I am not looking forward to, gunna be a bit of a rough trot for a while but so long as it is all successful I don't care.
