water filler pipe on olympic - bad design?

The water filler pipe on my olympic comes in through the van body, through the floor, and into the water tank. The pipe is damaged, which is likely another reason for the floor damage. Given the olympics and water don't mix well this design seems like an unnecessary risk. Has anyone tried an alternative setup so the pipe doesn't go through the van? I am assuming it is original... perhaps it is an add on. See pic below:

Double clamp all pipes

Mine has never leaked since double clamping the mains pressure pipe.
Mind you I do make sure that it isn't fully turned on as many of these parks have some wickedly high pressure.

So for the filler it shouldn't be a problem if you double clamp

Thanks Atog, I will double clamp but I don't like the design at all. If I can think of a way to change it I will.
