Hi,
We've had a few hiccups, & we wont be going to Cooly this year.
I guess its just another weekend, & I've been going since mid 90's, so it wont matter.
So our site at Kirra Tourist Park is going to be put up for grabs tommorrow arvo.
If anyone wants to take it over, PM me your real name & phone contact. First in gets it. I need to know of interest before I ring them. I will then contact Kirra & try to sort it out. I will then contact you & let you know what is happenning.
I'm making a quick trip up on Friday, maybe Izzy & I in my hotrod, to collect my entry stuff I paid for.
Theres always next year.
Its going to be a shame to miss out on meeting people, but " C'est la vie"

Hi All,
Well I had no takers for the Kirra Beach site, so I cancelled it a little while ago.
As things stand it looks like I might be able to spend Sunday with my rod on display. If I leave home about 3.30 am I can be there as they let cars in at 4.30. If you are any later than that its hard to get a good spot. I need to be back home before it gets dark on Sunday, so I need to leave about 4 pm.
I was thinking, as no one has appeared to have organised a get together, that we could meet in the Surf Club , which is in the eastern end of Marine Parade, in the area I generally park.
I'd love to catch up with as many as possible, especially Tony ( Alien) & friends from Victoria, & anyone else that wants to turn up. We met so many great people at Cowra.
Maybe Sunday about 2 pm or 2.30, & I'm pretty sure they will be doing coffees & snacks. A Coffee Lounge will be difficult to find that can accept a lot of people.
My mobile is 0416280027, if anyone wants to contact me.

Hi Rod,
Why would you go to a second rate event when one of the best is only about 3 1/2 hours away??
I guess it proves what us that have attended Collangatta for many years know, & thats its a great venue, great bunch of participants, great music, & great cars, all in very large quantities.

Hi Tony,
What about we change it to mid morning, say around 10.30?? Same place.
Cant miss your flight, & it would be a shame not to catch up again.

Hi All,
I'll be there unless its raining Sunday early morning. I dont feel like driving up in the rain in the real early morning. Its too bloody cold with no windows, wipers or heater.
Be good to catch up

Hi All,
Well I got to the event on Sunday morning. About 5 am.
It was raining & cold pretty well from my 4 am leave to 4 pm return, & wasnt the most enjoyable event I've been to in terms of weather conditions.
But there were nice periods during the day.
Having morning tea in the Surf Club with a big percentage of our SE Qld regulars was great.
Meeting Frankie J & Wilbur over coffee was enjoyable.
Looking at hundreds of USA & Aussie cars & rods was pretty good as well. I missed a few I wanted to check in detail, but couldnt find everything.
A bit of a shame we couldnt have been there for the whole weekend, but these things happen.
Sorry to have missed all those I wanted to catch up with, but its a real big event, & I wasn't there a long time.
Maybe I can get there next year for the whole event.

Thanks Rods, we had a good time despite the rain.
Doug, Don't give up your day job. David Baily you are not, what a horrible photo of me I'm not going to get any modeling offers now! Little Miss camera Shy.
