Hi Dave, The last couple of photos remind me of thread I read where a bloke pulled all the cladding off the front and back of his Wayfarer because he found some rot, then kept us entertained while he rebuilt it... Oh, hang on...that was you! On a different tangent, I've been looking at your van and thinking that it reminds me quite a lot of a late 50's (Victorian) Paramount or a Phoenix. You mentioned on another thread that the canvas/canite roof had been replaced by aluminium, which I can see from your photos (the aluminium that is). Have you found some evidence that the original roof was canvas and canite? If it did have a canvas and canite roof then that would suggest that it was built in SA. However I was just speculating about its origins because the 'Korong' nameplate indicates that it spent at least some time in Victoria, and therefore could have been built there. Just thinking things through... By the way, I like the self-portrait - very arty! Don Ricardo

to OlFarts, nearly missed, how did I get my user name? My husband is an artist, looked on the wall above the computer, there was this terrific painting of tree bark, filling the whole canvas. Just be thankful it was not one of old aussie dunnies.... makes you think. Cheers www.colbrownbushart.com.au from Heather

Well Dave....I love this van...I am hoping you may keep the assorted colours of the cupboard doors...for some reason they are appealing in this van! Have you finished the wayfarer yet? What colours are you painting this van? I laughed at the thought of you in thongs and hot paint strips then sobered very quickly.....I will need to strip and repaint my vv by next summer....NOT looking forward to that dilemma....POST more pics........
