Took the FJ for a spin over to beverley on Saturday. Was running late as she was a little hard to wake up. All was good after we got under way though. Still managed to catch Cathy in her 65 galaxy, had a quick chat. Then trundled back to northam via York where I spotted the FJ panno and bondy van I had passed earlier in the day. I hope you guys are enjoying your time in the west and sorry we didn't get to meet. Your rig is very inspiring and gave me a few pointers for my bondy. Also sorry about the drool I may have left behind around your rig. Safe travels to you hopefully will catch up in the future.

Hi Noblesgarage... Thanks for the pix. May i suggest that rope quoits need to be played at a distance so that peoples feetare at least 12 feet from the pin You guys are spoilt rotten with all that lush sand growth under your feet in the van parks.. us NSWelshmen are "Green"with envy.. we have to make do with crappy old Couch or similar to loll about on. Good to see everything is running better now. Cant wait for the next installment of the west coast tour... Happy Trails Reddo.. from the far side.

The WA Spring Tour finished a coupla weeks ago, but so far I have'nt got 'round to sharing my pics due to computer dramas , ...... Thanks to Brian (noblesgarage) for uploading his pics The start of the tour at Boddington. This would've been a near perfect period shot, had a missabitchi not stuck its nose in ;D ;D First stop was a few kms outta Boddington, at Wayne's place, where he had an interesting collection of vintage tin: Next, we hit the road: until a morning tea stop about 50 kms out of Cuballing next stop was lunch at the Cuballing pub, with a beer to quench our thirst following long miles on the dusty road ;D the iceman, pissed off that we lined our rigs up bumper to bumper outside the pub, and blocked access from his ice truck parked accross the road to the front door of the pub, worked around us, and then later was happy to join us in the photo shoot (iceman on the far left) To be continued ............... Mark

Brian (noblesgarage) caught up with us at Lake Yearling after having fuel pump problems the day before, and spending and overnight stop in Dwellingup whilst waiting for the part. An overnight stop at Lake Yearling saw plenty of fun & frovolity around the fire ........wood fired marshmallows proved popular these guys were THAT blind, they had to use their miners lights to see from left Gary, Roger and Greg next morn, we headed out to a large car dump on a private property (thanks to a lead from the pub's cleaning lady) Noble had a small problem with his wipers on the way out Is this why F O R D stands for "Found On Rubbish Dump" ;D Snail was happy chappy we he found a morry horn button suitable for his current Vauxhaul project:

Hi all,
Just thought i would say a quick thanks to Dave, Pat and Noblesgarage for the 2011 Spring Tour, although we could only stay for 2 nights due to other commitments and a planned holiday to Phuket we enjoyed the time away. Now the youngest has completed year 12 and the oldest is at Uni, we will be on next years tour for the duration. Compliments on the route as I have not been on these roads and we were treated to some wonderful scenery. Looking forward to 2012.
regards HKnut and wife

and so the tour cruised on .................. a few of us stopped at a pub in Ardath, a little one horse, one dog, one pub town in the middle of nowhere, where we had a couple of quiet ones and took in the view from the balcony: Brian & Kath ........... after an overnight stop at Merriden, we headed for Nungarin, where they have a fantastic military museum. Brian has already covered the museum in his pics. one for JBJ oh what a feeling ;D somewhere out in the middle of endless miles of wheat farms, we (the pub crawlers as the three of us became known as : came accross this beautiful salt lake, and stopped to take some pics: whilst standing on the edge of the lake taking this pic, I started to get that sinking feeling ...... next stop was Beacon ....the furthest point on our tour ......... whats wrong with the Chev Brian and Ron appear concerned ;D looks serious .......had to bring in the mobile workshop truck

Hi all, I would like to thank the crew on the Spring Tour for all the fun, frivolity, friendships formed and also the help & advice received. Special thanks to those who waited to ensure Henrietta got her saggy bottom fixed so that we could continue on from Merredin. Most embarrassing when your tow car starts dragging your VV's A frame along the ground, makes a hell of a noise & attracts lots of bemused looks from the locals, even worse is the lack of positive steering with the "slightly" raised front end - by the way I DO HAVE PHOTOS of Brian & VV being towed away someplace east of Dwellingup & as soon as my daughter gets them out of my camera & onto the computer for me I shall email them in to be on display for the world to see Thanks once again for making my intro to Vintage Vanning such a wonderful experience, I look forward to taking Henrietta & Harriet on many more tours with you lot, Kate

Cobber .....the ol' chevy only blew a flange gasket, ........apart from that she ran sweeeeeeet The bloke under the bonnet of the Chev is the property and business tycoon of Beacon, .......that wealthy he's parked up is 78 Silver Shadow in the chookpen ;D ;D next day, it was back on the road again: this time, on the way to a farm in outback Bencubbin to see this this one has an interesting history. The story goes that waaaaaay back in 48, the farming family won tatslotto , so all farm debts were paid off, and a brand spanking new caravan was bought also from the winnings ....... Ron & Elaine were in there like a shot, and dragged out several goodies, including a coolest of the cool 1950's beach umbrella one for Cobber ...... luv the lino not to sure 'bout the pink roof but the caravan has been offered to the Beverley Vintage Caravan Museum ......but the curator doesn't know where to stick it ............the Beverley shed is chock-a-block next stop was the Koorda Motor Museum: one for olfarts ....... and an overnight stop in Dowerin. happy hour in Dowerin the sweetest rig on the tour .....Ralph & Di's FJ and lil bondy at Dowerin: and, the final day of the tour was spent here ......most vv punters know where this is: another great tour .........many thank to our tour organisers, Pat & Dave (loveshack). They tell me that on the 2012 WA Spring Tour, we'll have several Eastern Staters joining us on the run ......can't wait Mark

A very interesting old van, any particular make or was it a a custom built job? Some memories in that lino, we had the same pattern on our living room floor for years before it was covered with 'Feltex'. Showing my age I fear here George
