Hi everyone. I thought you might get a kick out of these photos. We organize a campout every year in Washington State. We call it “Make your own fun”. So this year my girlfriend does just that and buys a small trailer that everyone has been lusting over for years, that has been parked in a field just down the road from the campground. The farmer would not talk to anyone, was never home or wasn’t interested in selling. This time he couldn’t say no to 2 persuasive, attractive women. So when the trailer was dragged back to the campground later that afternoon it was like the “Pied Piper”. Everyone followed. It was very comical to watch. We couldn’t wait to clean it and remove the bees nests and the questionable stuff stored inside. All the junk filled a dumpster. We pressure washed it (yes we brought a pressure washer camping), jacked it up and checked all the bearings and bought new tires and it was good to go. Of course it had to clear customs coming back to Canada, which had to be done on a separate trip because we have not figured out how to tow 2 trailers a once. So it is now at its new home waiting a restoration. All in all it is in very good condition. It is called a Field and Stream from the early 60’s. So we have decided that bringing a new restoration project to a campout is the best way to entertain everyone. Everyone following the trailer The bees nests It needs a good clean Cleaner Wheel bearings checked Lots of advice is offered

I reckon there would be the same BUZZ of activity if someone did that to one of our runs!! Although I seriously doubt anyone would have a pressure cleaner on hand ....

It was the best kind of fun. But I don't think Lew was terribly impressed when his wife came to the campground with the news. that's him checking the bearings. His wife had already bought 2 other trailers oops caravans earlier in the week at home. To view the weekend photos check out my flickr page at www.flickr.com/photos/bolerific/sets/72157627509966970/ I did not concentrate to hard on the vans as they were mostly my usual suspects. I tried to take pics of us having and making our own fun. It was just a weekend of Gerry and I camping with 59 other vans, I really did not think we had so many trailer friends. But if you build an event they come, it really is amazing. We are going to the annual big event next weekend where over 100 vans are expected so I will be sure to take lots then.

Great pics, especially those on the flicker link - thanks so much! No wonder you managed to con sorry, negotiate that poor homeless farmer into selling his home, with such a bevvy of loverlies doing the negotiating ;D Would be great to see some pics of the interior of some of those vans, that Airfloat looks a treat. Do you have in other shots of it!!! I noticed on my daughter's facebook that another Canadian is looking to get hold of the Oz Vintage Caravan magazine. There must be a whole bunch of v/vanners on your side of the Pacific! Cheers Ray

Thanks for all the kind words. As for the Airfloat I do not have pictures of the inside, but I will work on that. It is all Art Deco inside.

Hi bolerific Now, you ladies sure do know how to live. I don't think there are enough caravan outings with a group pedicure on the agenda...are you listening boys? I'm very impressed with the amount of time that many of those making their own fun will have had to put in with the polishing pads - shiney! Is that Airfloat the one that has the big case radio in it? If so I think the person looking for pictures of the interior might find in in one of your earlier posts about an outing in ...Washington/Annual Meeting? Not sure. Thanks for the international perspective! Seeshell

Seeshell thanks for the help with the pictures. I had totally forgotten that I had them. Also the pedicures were a lot of fun that you spotted on my flickr page. We have done it a couple of times. The guys are starting to clue in about how good it feels. It is all in good fun. Our feet get pretty dirty up here when we camp.
