G'day Firefighter, Thanks for the photo of 942 our Don may have been in the shed in Oakleigh together with this van Build Number 944 Regards dosse G'day Dosse and Firefighter, I'm catching up on a few things which were posted while I was off-line for a few weeks...which is why I have been a serial poster (or is that serial pest) over the last couple of days. ;D ;D ;D You're right Dosse, it is a thrill when you find a van which was in the factory at the same time as yours. Dona Ricardo and I were really excited when we were able to see the Don which had the serial number one less than ours when we were at the Mildura V V Nats last year. It's amazing to look at two vans and to realise that they were most likely being worked on side by side. However, Dosse, there is one thing that confuses me... When your van was being sold by Libbeerose, she said the serial number was 944 - the same as above... However, when you took delivery of it, you posted: G'Day All Well now the fun begins. This is how we found the Don in an old carport in Maleny Qld. We first thought the build number was 944 but in fact it is 844...So, I gather that the serial number on yours has turned out to be 944 after all? Don Ricardo

G'day Detective Ricardo, Yes you are correct......many years of paint and some damage to the identification plate made the nine look like an eight until it was carefully cleaned......then it became clear it was a nine........so definitely build number 944 . Thanks Don R regards dosse. Ps May have been around the same time I acquired new reading spectacles .

Thanks Dosse. I've corrected my records! Yep, where would we be without our specs, eh? I'm quite short-sighted, which means I'm good at reading serial numbers. ;D ;D ;D But when I got my licence, the policeman explained at great length and very seriously that I had to always wear my glasses when I drove. I told him I had no chance at all of getting the car out of the garage without them on! There are a lot of things in this world I am thankful for, but one is definitely the availability of glasses! Don Ricardo
