hi all i thought i'd do a post to get "expressions of interest" from you about doing a sleep-over at dubbo zoo prior to the nationals. the cost at the moment is $309 per person - sounds a little exy - but if you read the spiel, you get a pretty good bang for your buck. I’ve contacted the zoo and there are 28 places available in the 7 savannah lodges ($309) and 30 places available in the 5 serengeti lodges ($349). If there is enough interest, I’ll contact them again and make a tentative booking for the lodges. thoughts at the moment are to do the sleep-over on the thursday night (26th), then head off to cowra (about 3 hours) later on the friday after spending the day bicycling around the zoo. maybe stop at a free camp sight friday night and arrive at cowra on saturday. there is secure parking overnight for both your car and caravan. so, leave a response here if you think you might want to sleep beside the savannah and wake up being kissed by a long necked giraffe with a 45cm long tongue. See you soon. geoff 'n jude

Ouch......nice idea but too expensive for us. But we could stay over at one of Dubbo's caravan park then join you at the Zoo.
