Hi all Vic Vint Vanners, Has anybody had any thoughts of going somewhere for the Q B long weekend? ? I am getting itchy feet again and new member Prem wants to use his Vacation for a vacation! Yesterday I rang the Lake Waranga Caravan Park near Rushworth to see if they had any space available for the long weekend. They said they plenty of space at present and got quite excited when I mentioned a group of Vintage Vans might be interested in coming, even to a point of offering a group discount of 10%. The park is happy to have fires as long as we bring our own fire drum and wood. The only real negative was that they do not allow dogs. Does anyone have any other thoughts? I did not book at this stage in case I stepped on anyone else's toes so if there is someone else with an idea lets hear it. Time is marching on and if we dont book something soon we may not be able to get it done. Cheers, Leigh.

Well,
How embarrassment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It turns out that Karon and I have a previous engagement on the Saturday night and we wont be able to go away for the Queens Birthday Weekend after all.
Lucky we have only had 1 reply anyway.
If Mr Oldfarts wants to continue on with getting something together then I wish him all the best and lots of luck getting the Victorians out of their nice warm houses. The other option is to forget it for now and look toward warmer times.
Either way I will see if I can get something up for Spring.
Cheers, Leigh.

I would have been happy to venture out in the cold but I had a prior engagement for the long weekend.
I try to get long weekends if I can so the time away is a little longer = more fun.
As I am involved with the Austin 7 Club doing Mud Trials I am out in the rain, cold, mud, etc every second weekend on average during the period from April to October. I also help out with the Historic Race Meeting at Winton in May and various Vauxhall club events and home duties thrown in as well. One of the only weekends I have off until October (CORA LYNN!) was the Queens Birthday weekend so that worked for me.(or so I thought)
All we can do Dave is suggest dates and places and hope it fits in with other peoples schedules. If it works out great, if not move on and pick anothery. If Rushworth is not a goer for the QB weekend I would still like to go there in September maybe.
I am sure every one else is busy too, lets not get disheartened about it all. I had hoped that at least my groundwork would have resulted in some others coming along even if I could not make it.
I have always thought the whole point of having a van was to get out and use it. I recently took the teardrop to Tassie for a week and had a ball.
HOW ABOUT IT VICTORIANS, DO YOU WANT TO GO ON SOME WEEKENDS AWAY DURING THE YEAR OR ARE YOU HAPPY JUST TO GO THE CORA LYNN EACH YEAR AND SAY WHAT A GOOD TIME IT WAS.
Cheers, Leigh.
