Hi travellers,
My lovely Nan and Pa used to take my cousins, sister and l Cara-van-a-raner-ing (that's what our family called it) when we were kids to the Lakes on the school holidays. Nan and my sister would knit in the car Nan hanging her feet out of the window and Pa and l would fish. It's a pretty little spot.
Enjoy your travels.

Just as i thought....... Isnt this typical of the Queenslanders..... Temp drops a bit... get a bit of snow on the ground.... They Turn tail and go scurrying back towards the border in search of the sun..... which hasnt been all that regular up there this year.. SOFT.... just plain soft i say........ ;D ;D ;D REAL vintage caravanners and intepid campers..... and their hounds would be putting the snow chains on and heading further into the alps..... On a seriuos note..... i reckon they are headin back north and over the border before the first state of origin game ;D ;D ;D NO canetoad would wanna be caught south of the border once us cocroaches fire up... I see the latest from up there is "Nothing beats Queensland"......Hmmmmmmmph... we'll see about that ;D Dont forget .. Blacksmiths is on next weekend sutcacs.... just apply the handbrake a bit and roll in on Friday.... Oh yeah .. Seeshells.. Re "Fugly "try searching on " Ëxpandavan" cheers Reddo

Hi Clyde & Barb Looks like you're having a blast, wish we were travelling with you both. It would look good them two green Holden utes pulling vin vans in convoy heh. Bit scared on the snow thing though. Queensland hasn't conditioned us for that. Had to put a jumper on just looking at the photos. Safe travells and we look forward to catching up around a WARM campfire. Neil & Cheryl

While we were driving down the Bruce Highway about an hour ago , north of Maryborough Qld a green van with the name Fugly came past and I thought I'm sure I have seen that name before.
I sort of remember Reddo having a Fugly van ages ago that is no longer ? Is the Fugly van I saw today the one on this forum ? All I saw was green as it drove by going north !
By the postings you are having a good time Cheers Kathryn

Hi Richard,
There are quite a few pics of the Fugly on the forum. Each time Sutcac changes tow vehicles he repaints Fugly to match and then posts some pics! However, the easiest to find are on the Expandavan thread in the Down History Lane section (even though Fugly isn't actually an Expandavan).

Oooh! Oooh! The close-up wheel shot - what sort of wheels are those? What size are they?
That's the exact look I want for the Kennedy's replacement wheels - I need a 13 or 14 inch version of that wheel with a wide white-wall.
I just don't want to pay the $500 a tyre it cost to get the Jag tyres.

Hi Richard. The wheels are repo steelies 15x8"( available from a variety of sources) www.antiquetyres.com.au/wheelsThese can set you back a few hundred dollars each with cap and trim ring......... Good quality wide white radials about $400 ea.......so about $600/$700 a corner....... I would definitely not run these on a caravan..........................instead , 8 ply light truck tyres would be best for your van......................maybe add a white wall insert to match them to your car if thats the look you're after................. Cheers Sutcac
