Hey Vintage Vanners, this year for our annual Melbourne Cup weekend away we have booked into the Jamieson Caravan Park at Jamieson. It is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive East from Melbourne in the beautiful King Valley. This is a picturesque little park right on the banks of the Jamieson River and an easy 2 minute walk to the centre of town. It has all the normal facilities including a shop and a pool and abuts a huge council parkland with safe swimming in the river and a large play area for the kids. At this stage there are proposed activities such as a day run to Mansfield, a day run to Eildon and a drive up to Woods point as well as a visit to a local car museum.. If you are interested please have a look at their website at www.jamieson-caravanpark.com.au which will tell you more of the park, facilities, area etc and contact details. The weekend is from Friday 28th October through to Tuesday 1st November. We have had an area allotted to us for the Vintage Vans so we can all park together but if the park starts to fill up those spaces will be allocated to others so if you intend to go we suggest you book early. The park is fairly small and will probably fill up for the long weekend. To book phone 03 5777 0567 and mention that you are with the Vintage Van Group. More details as the date comes closer. Leigh & Karon

A reminder of this VICTORIAN event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently a local car museum, which is on the list of activities for the weekend, is having a car show/display on the Saturday which will be good for us to attend. This will include a food stall and is a fundraiser for the local CFA.
Hope we can get some more campers there for the weekend.
Cheers, Leigh.

Hi Leigh,
For the past few years, a group of us head up to Wentworth for the Melb Cup weekend. This year will be the same, so regrettably we will not be starters for Jamieson. Have a great time away ... perhaps another time?

G'day Leigh,
Looks great mate, and despite some comments there are a few of us that would like to get out more often..... The problem that I have is that my work is one of the most disorganised bunch of......well you get the idea! Would love to come but have no idea of what work will have for me, and won't until probably a week before...... However in saying that, if I can come, I will. Really appreiciate the fact that you go to the effort of organising these things for us all, sorry that you haven't had much of a response. Regards, John

G'day Leigh,
Unfortunately I won't be making this run, somethings come up and I can't get out of it. I hope that you all have fun and I look forward to the photos.

No one is coming and due to Karon's dad being unwell this weekend has been cancelled.

What a shame this didn't work out. Great looking location with the river, lovely shady C/park (wish we had more sites like this in qld! If it was only 3 hours from home, instead of 20 or more, we'd be there!
Thanks for the info on this C/park Leigh, I'll store it in my own personal thread of Good Parks To Stay. Dog friendly? Hope Karon's Dad improves
