Hi surferh,
Glad to see your progress with your sunny, great to see the old hoodlining was saved( we are really glad ours was in good nick). You certainly are putting in some work and it should come up a treat. Hope you get all you want done over the Easter break, as it certainly is satisfying puttting it all back together again.
Thanks for the pics, retro64

yea im trying to keep it original and modern/clean looking as i can on the inside. hence why im keeping the roof lining. i may try and paint it with a vynal/plastic paint as it is a bit faded and yellow in places. has anyone done this before?
yea rod im hoping to get a few coats on mine over easter, how are you painting it and with wat types of paint? spray? acrylic? 2 pac? roll on? haha im abit confused on what im going to do as of yet and any suggestions would be great thanks guys more photos to come =]

Hi surferh,
Sorry cant reccomend a plastic or vynil paint as we didnt paint ours, wern't game to try it, but we wern't happy with it's appearance. We looked at all the yellowing and discoloured areas and they really looked dreadfull against the stark white interior paint. After prying around the inside of cupboards we matched the original wall colour and re painted inside. We were stunned at the difference that a softer pastel colour made to the appearence of the hoodlining, all of a sudden it didn't need painting just sort of blended in with the walls, beats me how but anyway.......... this blurb doesn't answer your question, hope that someone on the forum can help with it. Good luck with it all,
cheers retro64

Over here in NZ the mould was called Concord and came as big as 20ft on a tandem axle, they have just started making them again in 16ft from the origional mould.

G'day Surferh Looks like you are doing a good job on your van ........BUT ......... The micro wave should not be built in .......as they need the air to circulate around them ........as they will catch on....... FIRE........ but..... its your van and you are free to put it where your like f/f ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ps.......some of the new vans with built in micro waves have caught on fire ....because they have been built in

thanks guys =] its starting to take some shape which is encouraging to see, the outside is almost ready for a primer now. In reguards to the microwave, i have left an empty space at the back of it around 200mm x the width of the microwave which vents through the fridge vent on the side of the van, so its only realy the sides that are boxed in.
