Yeah Bigkel, the dear Fuhrur's attitude did ruin it for a bit for us with alllll that packing & unpacking of the Propert. We've heard so many stories now from other folk, including that the C/park is known locally as Stalag 13. Another story was that a girl from Rockhampton turned up to camp for a bit when there were only 4 sites occupied in the whole park. After she had set up camp on the site adjacent to the one allocated by Dear Fuhrur, she was told that she had to either shift to the one allocated or go.
Good news is that we discovered a BRILLIANT camp ground 5 minutes away in shady native bushland with a forest walk through cabbage tree palms to untouched beach edged by pandanus trees etc. Bush toilets, cold showers (who cares when there's a great beach), dogs allowed, $5.50/pp. Really great people here, young families on a budget, backpackers touring Australia etc
Stephen & Julie, when the battery runs down for the fridge, we'll be on the road to Rainbow, probably see you Wed arvo. I'll phone the Rainbow people to see if we can come early as we were booked in for Thurs.

Hi All
Lisa does this new man come complete with a tool box?
Was so enthusiastic about cleaning the caravan for this trip I broke two nails !!! standards are slipping. The electric blanket is staying on- whats happened to the weather?
I have finally got around to making some curtains so be prepared to be amazed- anyone with curtain making knowledge may look from a distance of ten metres.
As a big film buff I'm Looking forward to seeing a movie- I have lots but not on usb is it worth taking some in the hope someone can convert/download them to usb? computers and I don't get on.
Looking forward to a good weekend

AHHHHHHHHHHHH, Yes would have to agree on the weather, it has been cold, windy, and raining here. Still keen to go though. At this point we will still take the projector on the off chance we can find somewhere dry to have a movie night, unless Des thinks it's just not worth it when we're ready to leave. See you all very soon heading off straight after school pick up. ;D. Think the kids will nearly die being so close to the beach and possibly not being able to get in. However in saying the on the Sunday at Maroochy how cold it was!!!, yes our two still went for a swim. Off packing l will go. Kel

Hi, Our van isn't ready to take over to Rainbow (will be ready for Canungra though!), but as we live in Tin Can Bay, we will pop over and say hello to everyone. Thinking Saturday arvo sometime - is anything planned, is there a good time to come over?
See you soon.
Linda and Peter.

Thanks to Des and Kel for suggesting going to this awesome spot. Had a great weekend and the movie night went down a treat - great fun!!! Even got to see some whales as they passed by. We could have done without the storm Saturday morning, but again they were great hosts and kept me safe and dry until it passed over. Also thanks to everyone who helped me pack up the site before the storm hit - great bunch of people Looking forward to Cunungra now. Cheers Dianne & John

Hi all. A sincere thanks to all who attended the Rainbow Beach gathering for the wonderful welcome that was extended to us. We had a great time and hope this was the first of many VV gatherings that we are able to attend. If we can shuffle our calendar we'll definitely be starters at Canungra! Many thanks, Mark & Glenda(& Dookie Dog)

What a fun, great, wild, weekend' Fun- catching up with everyone was just wonderful again. Great-The beach what can we say, the swim and walk each morning was perfect. Maddy and Eue loved it, so too did Missy Bell, it was her first beach and caravan experience and she was fantastic. Can't get over how beautiful and white she is, usually she has this pretty pink tinge about her. (Oh best say that quietly or Lisa will be after her. ). Wild- Weather was a bit crazy, perfect when you go to the beach and have a play at the park. Then walk to camp site to find everyone scurring around. Look up, oh golly. Bammmm, down she comes, to show the true resiliance of the Vintage Caravaner nature we all rode it out the either good friends, a cuppa, a book, and some even a )then through word of wet vaner we all went for a lovely meal at the bowls club (Bob and Jackie are ideas people . By the afternoon we were all drying out our bits and pieces. Some of us more than others, got to love it when the little ones shove their clothes under the camp stretcher before a storm hits. ( Yes Eue mum is talking about you) Sun morning was divine and we were all wishing the weekend could be a little longer. Thanks to you all for a wonderful time, hope to see you all at Canungra if we can make it. Cheers Des, Kel,Maddy, Eue and Missy Bell

Another great weekend! Only thing wrong...it was too short! Not short of excitement tho with great storm on Saturday & wind gusts of 111km/hr just down the beach from Rainbow Beach!
Thanks to Des & Kel for organising the weekend & the great movie night, and to Sharon (our very own Vintage Van Margaret Pomeranz) for bringing the movie along. We won't forget Lucy & Desi's trip up the mountain in a hurry! Not to mention Desi reversing the 40ft van into and through the garage.
Cheers

Hi All, What a great weekend. In fact I enjoyed it so much I stayed for an extra night. ;D Des & Kel, thanks soooooooooooooo much for suggesting it. I was in desperate need of a break from working on the house and work in general and I feel so much better for the break. I never cease to be amazed by what a great crowd of people the SEQ vint van attendees are and just how much fun we can pack into one weekend. I don't seem to stop laughing from start to finish. Bob & Jacqui, thanks for posting the photos - I forgot to take my camera Mark & Glenda, glad to see that you have joined the forum and had an enjoyable time for your first weekend away with the SEQ mob. I'm sure it will be your first trip of many. Love to all Di xx
