PINE RIVERS FESTIVAL - Rodz Rock n Roll Sat 28 MayPine Rivers Park, Gympie Road Strathpine ( on the flats between Bald Hills and Strathpine. ) After last years event attracted over 400 classic cars the Moreton Shire Council have promised an even better event this year as part of their week long Pine Rivers festival. Classic car show plus trade stalls and great music. I was asked by one of the organisers today about bringing some Vintage caravans along and they offered for us to be parked together on the main display area. Details are vie thelink below with pre registration open now. Cost is $ 10 per car or $ 20 if you want a hat and goodies etc with it. This entry fee is just a donation to Rotary so a good cause to boot. www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/subsite.aspx?id=67679Being two weeks after maroochydore dragging the van out may be a hassle for some so just bring your car and enjoy some great music and interesting cars. If you decide to book in let me know so I can arrange an area for us to park together. Rollydog

For those that haven't been to this ,the entertainment is well worth coming to see. The car show is really good with plenty of variety and this year we will take the teardrop as well. See you there.

We have been to this event for say about the last five - six years and it is great live entertainment show starting about 1.00 / 2.00pm till 9.00 pm and then fireworks at 9.00pm. But will advise of the timings once we receive the schedule.
It is getting bigger and bigger.
We haven't received our application form as yet, but we will be there. It rained a bit last year but it still went ahead.

We have booked and paid for our Vauxhall Vagabond 1953 to go.
It is a great event, plenty of live entertainment and plenty for the children as well.

I'm going to book in the Hillman and van but will try and get the Sunbeam there as well. Would Lynne be interested in driving a Sunbeam Rapier down there John? It would look good next to the Vauxhall. Rollydog

Jean and Kev There is a link above to go through and book or if you have hassles let me know so I can register your name and pay on the day. Remember this event has a $10 entry fee per car (spectators free) but all money goes to the Albany Creek Rotary Club for the great community work they do. Rollydog

Just spoke to one of the organisers and she wants to have the vans come in together so we can all be put together. The times suggested are 10.30am ; 11am; 11.30am or 12.30am
Would everyone be happy with 11am ? and maybe meet on southpine road near Torque Toyota. This way we can turn right at the lights back onto Gympie road and then left into the park. Bookings are open until early May and if necessary they will accept bookings on the day.
This should be a good event to showcase the vans while listening to some great music.

I nominated meeting outside Torque Toyota because it is an easy location to find. South Pine Road Brendale. If you are coming from the highway approaching strathpine look for the large "brendale" sign on the left. Take this exit over the overpass and turn right at the lights onto Southpine road and head along 400 metres. This way we turn right back onto Gympie road and then left nto the park. Here is hoping for good weather on the day. Rollydog

Hi all. Keep an eye on this post as I may change the meeting point to just up the road. I'll have another look on a saturday morning in a few weeks but it looks like the council car park may be better. Rollydog

CHANGE OF MEETING PLACE After loking at the streets on Saturday moring I have changed our meeting place to RAILWAY STATION CAR PARK- STATION STREET STRATHPINE 10.45AM This is a fenced car park not really used on saturdays. Travelling from Petrie / Lawnton etc on Gympie road turn right at the lights past the Council chambers into South Pine Road (Red Rooster on corner) and turn right again before Railway lines into Station street. Travel in here 100 metres and look to the right. From South travel along Gympie road past the venue and turn left into South Pine road then right into Station street. I'll be there from 10.30am so that we can leave at 11am. Any problems call me 0417 620877. Rollydog

Spoke to a few people at Maroochydore who are coming to this one but there is always room for more with a van or just your classic car or just drop in to see the group and listen to some great music. Rollydog

Welcome to joys of owning an old car Lisa. We take for granted a nice reliable modern car and the oldies can be very frustrating to get sorted out but once you do it is so much fun. Hope you get the Vauxhall ready in time.

Neil Just had a look myself and couldn't get in either. I've been dealing with one of the girls in the council so will let her know numbers next week and mention the situation of you and others who may still want to book in so it will be okay on the day. Rollydog

Lisa, Hope you have the tyres and tow bar sorted.
All looks good for Saturday but bring a jumper, pull over, cardi or what ever else you call your winter jacket as it has got cool the past few nights and being near the river in an open park it may well do so on saturday night.
Remember we are meeting in the fenced car park near the Strathpine train station between 10.30am and leaving at 11am. My mobile number is 0417 620877 or UHF radio on the day Channel 1. ROLLYDOG
