Hello from Vancouver BC Canada. My husband and I are passionate about vintage travel trailers(caravans). We are the Western Canadian Tincan tourist representatives. We have a 1967 Airstream and 1953 Bellwood and a 1971 boler. Our vintage tow vehicle is a 1968 Dodge Polara. I am coming to Victoria in March for a visit with my 86 year old mother (Australian born). I was wondering if I could come and see some of your Vintage rigs. I will be staying on Philip Island but will have a car to get around. Thanks for any consideration

Hi Bolerific,
Welcome to the forum. It appears there are no borders when it comes to vintage vans and tow vehicles, but rather a worldwide, much loved lifestyle. We would love to hear more about your "Canadian Tin Can Tourist" group, and we personally love to see the photos of these interesting and beautifull old vans(trailers).
If you are Aussie born, welcome home, if not welcome to Australia, hope your visit with your mother is wonderfull.
We're located in Queensland so wont be able to show you our vans but wish you "happy looking" at all those lovely southern vans.
Cheers and happy trails,
retro64

Hi Bolerific Welcome to the forum. Hope you and your mum have a safe trip over here and enjoy your stay . I was given a book a few years ago which gives a thorough account of the history of the tincan touristin America and Canada. Book is called "Galloping Bungalows". Lots of interesting photos as far back as 1914. Which reminds me .. the book is on a bit of a "pass it on" loan amongst us vintage vanners on the east coast of Australia. I will have to make some attempt at retrieving it... Bye for now. Reddo.... Newcastle NSW.

Just came back from camping in Washington State. 13 trailers attended. Yes it was cold a night, went down to minus1c at night. But it was fun. Lots of great trailers. Starting to get excited about my visit to Australia.

Hi there Bolerific - Great pictures - Your tincan group looks like a lot of fun. I lived in the States for years, and never tired of rubbernecking at all the vans there, but particularly the shiny Airstreams and their rare cousins, the Spartan Manors (so luxe!). Welcome to the forum, eh! Seeshell
