Hi there
I've recently purchased an Olympic and am looking for some alu edging for the table and counter - any leads? Has anyone had this need before with their vans - what was your solution?
I'm not looking for the "happy days" bright chrome edging, more like the plainer stuff held in by small brads (had a top and bottom higher rolled edge and a flat centre).
Any info is most welcome!

Hello Seeshell I can remember my Dad salvaging an old laminex table and taking the edging off it for just the purpose you are wanting....(it was for a table in his boat though!) He found the table at the tip (ahhh recycling centre I believe these are called nowadays) It had only three legs and the laminex was peeled and stained, but the alum surround was in pretty good nick! Exactly the same as you have described. (And the old table was free back then!) Maybe keeping an eye out when next at the recycling centre? One man's trash is another's treasure!....Jen

G'day seeshell, I bought some of this to do the edging on my table and front bench in my van from an aluminum supplier that I found in the yellow pages. It was just a matter of calling them and describing what I wanted. It turned out that they had it on the shelf. Not sure where you are, but this was in Williamstown Vic. It was a few years ago though..... Hope this helps. Regards, John

I was looking for the same stuff and found it through my camec supplier... Have you checked the list of vintage parts suppliers?

Hi Seeshell, we found some at a place called "Capital Aluminium" in Underwood, Brisbane, (07) 3209 1222. The aluminium itself is affordable but the freight is a killer because it has to be packed lengthways on to a board/something solid. Best if you pick up yourself, we just wrapped it around inside the car in a large U shape so we could keep it in full lengths.
