G'day everybody. As there are a number of Vintage Caravan owners who are also FE or FC Holden owners and the West Australian FE-FC Holden Club is hosting the FE-FC Holden Nats in 2012. we would like to invite ALL Vintage Caravan Owners to join us during our 'Show and Shine' to display their Vintage Caravans. Our Nats will be held over the Easter weekend in 2012 ALL Vintage Caravans will be welcome to join us on Saturday 7th April 2012 in the Supreme Court Gardens 10.00am to 3.00pm. As a number of the West Aussie club members and a couple of Eastern States members have already indicated they will be showing their vans we would love to take the opportunity to expand this into a display incorporating other Vintage Caravans. We see this as a win/win/win situation as it expands and improves our show gives the VVers an opportunity to show off the vans and joe public gets the chance to see why we enjoy ourselves so much ;D I will post more details closer to the event some basic details (that could change) there will be no entry fee there will be no prizes (unless somebody else organises something) period correct/hotrod vehicles are OK with vans. Modern vehicles to be parked away from vans. thank for your time surferboy (this is a work in progress, if you have any queries please ask)

The FE FC Nats are coming up fast As surferboy said in his post, there will be a display of vintage caravans and their tow cars at Supreme Court Gardens Perth on Easter Saturday April 7 combined with their show and shine. It doesn't matter whether your tow car is a Holden or not, your presence and car and caravan are required please. Modern tow cars have been requested to park away from the car show and vintage caravan display (organiser's request). So, can WA members please support this event, and bring along your car and caravan. We should at least be able to get: the Potts Brad & Gem with their Kennedy tucky Daggsey with a caravan if he's down from Hedland for the nats Greg & Jill Kath from Yarloop luvshack Bruce & Robin shilo ( Ron & Elaine) noble snail ......maybe Denise could bring one of Dad's caravans if Snail is busy ........plus any of our other regulars who attend our runs & events ...........and I'll organise a caravan from Beverley for the day Mark

Hi Mark Would love to be there, but also belong to Panther Van Club (as in Panel-vans) & for the first time in 37 years WA has managed to secure the right to hold the Van Nationals here in WA at Pinjarra in conjunction with the MAX (Murray Auto Xtravaganza) over the Easter weekend. So am committed to helping out & showing there, not 100% sure but feel Ron & Elaine will also be at Pinjarra that weekend. Hope you all have a great time, hopefully next event won't clash with something else!! Cheers Kate/Kathy

Thanks Mark for bringing up our Nats event for us. With the wagon off the road for the big rebuild Cathy and I have been very quiet on the VV scene. and a big thank you to the vintage vanners who can turn up for the day. It looks like we will get a good number turn up for the day. We have over 50 vehicles entered for the Nats weekend and we will be including in the Showand Shine any FE- FC that wants to be included for this one event. The more the merrier. We also have Curtin FM radio broadcasting live from the Show and Shine. We would like to encourage those VVers who attend to display their vans to the max, with all your showy collectable stuff. We have lots of room available and have not finalized a ground plan as yet. Is there a preference for setting out the vans. I was planning angle parking in a row along the Riverside Drive side of the gardens, should get some shade from the trees, and the van doors would face in towards the show vehicles. Or a circle of vans with a display/campsite (?) in the middle Can those that will be attending please confirm your attendance and vehicle/van details with me at my email address, so that we can confirm numbers for allocating parking area and our traffic marshalls will know what to expect arriving on the morning. I expect we will set up at 9.00am (I will confirm this closer to the day) Kate. Pity you can't make it. The panel van guys had their Nats in Mt Gambier the same time as the FE-FC guys back in 2008 also. Brings back memories. I was a member of the High Rollers Van Club (REAL vans -not passenger car derivitives ;D, was our motto. I had a customized Bedford back in the days before marriage and kids. Thanks again guys (and girls) surferboy cruising58@hotmail.com

Enter the gardens from Governors Ave (Eastern end) Vans will be parking at the Eastern end with plenty of lawn area for display 10.00am -3.00pm Can we please have caravans on the lawn area about 8.30am so they are in location before the FE-FC convoy arrives about 9.00am. Makes me want to hurry up and get my old FE back on the road.I let it run out of rego 12 years ago and finally got it out of the shed.Only problem is my bones ache a lot more now laying on conrete under the van. Has anyone seen may of these Panelvans with windows all around. I have been looking for a van to tow and found a nice millard but I dont think it suited the era of my FE. I let it go and I think it sold today. This is the old girll when I got it out a few years back. John

As know doubt interested members have already read on the F E / F C forums that the West Coast Nationals held over Easter were are very successful and well attended event . Some pics: On arrival at the Nats headquarters on Great Eastern Hgh Belmont, visitors were greeted by this huge balloon towering over the Country Comfort Motel : Lined up for a cruise on Good Friday afternoon ........ Gotta luv the shirt................: The beautiful city of Perth turned absolutely supurb Easter weather for the four day event ........... Cruisin' alomg Mounts Bay Road ........... woops ......we're goin' the wrong way picked up this derelict homeless drunk during the cruise and dropped him off at the RSL ;D A lil bondy bondy joined the cruise to Supreme Court Gardens on the Sat morning............. Saturday's show and shine was held at the Supreme Courts Gardens between the city and the river, a truly supurb spot. How the event organisers got permission to hold a car show there I'll never know Some of my favourites: Forum member Carapark's FC ambo and lil bondy this van that was trailered accross the paddock was said to have been wrapped in bubble wrap for the journey! Candy and Fred drove accross to Perth from Townsville QLD for the nats in Perth .....did they win the " longest distance travelled" trophy ..................absolutely ! an original van belonging to a concreting contractor.......... accross the road (Riverside Drive) and right on the river (in fact constructed over the river) is the Lucky Shag Waterfront Bar ......a top spot for a coupla quiet ones and lunch Richard Court's Bell Tower .......... Next day (Easter Sunday), the clubs went on a " Mega Cruise" to Hillarys Boat Harbour and, dunno whether this has been done on our forum before .......but if you DOUBLE CLICK on each of the images below, you'll see a couple of experimental movies I made of the way home please ignore the sound .....as I say, they were experimental ;D slow going over the rough corrogation on the road (shortcut) to Beverley all in all, a fantastic weekend with a great bunch of blokes and women ..........roll on the F E / F C Nats in Tassie 2014! Hey Mark, looks like a top event. Good to see Kevin Clarence made it ok with his ute and home made teardrop. I assume (and hope) most of the interstaters drove across, but I dont think I understand mr bubblewrap? How come I did not get one of those fancy t shirts with a Vagabond on it? Perhaps something to think about for next time. Then again the WA Vauxhall blokes come over to the other side 4 years out of 5 so perhaps our trip is not so special. Leigh.
