Hi Guys. I purchased a Olympic Debonair yesterday. It is missing the door handle / lock assy ( just a hole in door ). What can I get to replce it ? Will need window seals aswell. Is there a Olympic Vans forum ? Any help would be great. A bit of work ahead of me but should be cool when finished. Thanks. Stuart. Gin Gin Qld.

Hey Stuart Welcome to the mad world of vintage caravans The lock you are looking for is a standard Lockwood lock. There are two sizes a smaller and a standard size. Go with the standard..... it fits - the smaller won't. Costs about $110 new. Some photos of your new pride and joy would be very interesting. Cheers Atog

Hi Mate. Thanks for the reply. Someone has changed my door , to what apears to be a house , entry door set up ,so will try that style , have gone out and got a sst lever handle lock assy ,will give it ago. Do you know if both door hinges are the same ? The ouside of the van has been striped down and re sprayed , the top of the door sits out to far , might make a spacer to go in between tho hinge and the door skin on the top hinge , this should push the door in ? What sealing should be around the door ? The outside is good the interior is crap , has had the floor replaced ,properly glassed in , but rest has been done the last owner , with no idea , but thats fine ,wanted a van to gut out and set out how I want it. It has no interior wall sheets , would anyone have paterns ? As I say a lot of work but will be worth it , wont be done as original , but a modern 70s retro theme , old school cool . Dont know why modern vans arent built this way. Oh yeh it was the van advertised on Gumtree Internet Classified Add in Brisbane ( no did not get wet ). Thanks. Stu.
