I'm thinking of making a stone shield for the front window to protect it while we're crusing the highways and byways... Can someone give me some advice on the best materials to make it from? What sort of struts are best? All advice welcomed and appreciated!

Howdy. Hmm,apart from buying a new one, nice patterned ali sheeting or mini-orb. You can get lengths of ali or steel of say,20mm square & plastic joiners, corners, T pieces etc. (no welding to do) Determine the size you need.I`d be inclined to fit two equally spaced supports within the frame. Measure twice, cut once. Pop rivet or self tap the corners,T pieces etc.Lay your measured sheet/panel on the frame & secure in same method.Nice length of piano hinge & a couple of securing clips. As for struts - horses for courses. Plenty out there but not so sure the frame wouldn`t bend when wanting to close. Standard caravan push-out window supports could certainly work. cheers gordon
