Hi All,
I worked a deal with my local canvas maker, who has done a few bits for me recently.
He undertook to make the rest of the annex for me to match the top he previously made, & to make it look like it was meant to be there, not just something altered to fit sorta almost.
Some pix as follows.
Lucille on Kim's spotless workshop floor. This is the roof section he made a while back for me, with a new canvas frilled edge replacing the vinyl he originally used.
He had a lot of trouble finding good Aussie made canvas in the colours we wanted.
The front has a door & large window. All zippered, using plastic zips & nickel plated metal zippers.
Side & rear panels have a window in each. The sides are made with a front panel, a side panel, & a rear panel, all zipped together at corners. The front & rear wrap around posts, and can be used on their own. The side joins everything together.
The colour split is designed to match Lucilles paint pattern. So the window flaps have a colour join.
Kim likes things to stay in place in windy conditions, so the connection to the van got a bit of extra strength.
Inside we got a skirt, that ties into all the sides to create weatherproofing.
All in all I'm very happy with his work.
Cost about $2000 for the sides plus $600 ( I think ) for the roof.
Every piece of the annex is Australian made, & I'm proud of Kim for chasing up & always using Australian products unless no alternative is available,
Kim Daley from Canvas Concepts in Alstonville did it, he also did Phargan's annex a while back. I've known him since he was born, & his father worked on the Starlight caravans as a kid in the late 50's. So Kim's got vintage vans in his bloodlines.

This all goes with Lucille if someone buys her.
