Well, I had a ripper of a weekend at the swap!
Didn't care about the weather, I was warm and dry under the you-beaut pergola the boys got me for my birthday.
(Unfortunately I was so flat out I didn't get any pics of our site set up, if any of you have one, we'd really appreciate it if you could post it on here).
Was also a brilliant water-prooofing test for the little teardrop - she passed with flying colours
It was wonderful to chat to so many people about our little 'drop, their little 'drop, or vans in general.
I think I wound up having the same conversation with about 100 or so people over Saturday.
Hopefully I didn't bore them too much!
I missed Saturday's 2.30 meeting, but it was pelting down and we still had customers, so I had to stay put.
As Dale said, I had a wonderful gentleman stop by on Sat morning.
He was very shy and hesitant, but opened up a little once he had a good look at our little van.
He was so shy he didn't think I would want his name, I felt awful that he was so unconfident about himself.
Once we started talking, as he told me about working as an apprentice in the factory where the Sportsman's were manufactured, I could clearly visualise what it was like.
He told me that watching the fellas work on them was the most wonderful memory he has of his working life.
He said that the skills these guys had were unbelieveable and he would spend quite a bit of time just watching them.
Unfortunately, the rain stopped and our site became slightly inundated again, so he left just as quietly as he arrived.
But he left me with beautiful visions of his time at the factory.
One of the many wonderful conversations I had with great people over the weekend!
If you happened to stop by and have a chat - thank you!
It really helped make my weekend just lovely!
I enjoyed showing off the hard work Dale has done (and how good a job he did of helping the 'drop recover once I tried to bathe her in decking oil only a few days before!).
Also managed to pick up some treasures...and part with some treasures....so it was win-win!
Really looking forward to getting out there and living the lovely, relaxing lifestyle that having a van brings
If you see us around out in the big blue yonder with the van, holler out and come by for a cuppa!
