Hi everyone! We haven't been on here much lately, mainly due to the fact we were getting ready for our wedding day and honeymoon trip to Tasmania in Freddy Freeway and Ken the Norich! Ken didn't need much work, just new lights , but Freddy got new brakes, suspension bushes, ingnition, rad/heater hoses, all the usual stuff before a big trip ;D
Here's a few pics of us on the wedding day then we can move on to the honeymoon.
So on the 27th of September we set off for Port Melbourne
Freddy performed like a champ all day, stopped for petrol and stretch the legs about every 200K's and stopped at Stawell for the the night. Didn't really have that much of a look around, but the park was nice and we had an ensuite site which Liz really likes!
The next day we were off to Port Melbourne for the ferry. No real issues for the day, although we did get a little lost on our way! The trip over was terrible, very rough, we didn't think there was any way Freddy and Ken would be in the same place we left them! We were very glad we left Sasha (our dog) at home because she would've hated it!
Next morning we got off the ferry, searched for friut/veg and foxes, anything that they don't want people to bring over. After that we drove to Wynyard for the first stopping point. We stayed there 2 nights, it was a nice park and fairly quiet, right on the beach front. While we were there we toured around a bit, we looked at the car museum in Wynyard
Then we went for a tour of the light house
These were taken from the lighthouse, the field you can see is a tulip farm, we were there a couple of weeks before they all fully opened, would look very good!
Next day we went to Stanley to see The Nut (not a strange man that stands on street corners directing traffic and complianing about how the government put a microchip in his head, but a big volcanic formation!) and rode on the chair lift. Below is the town of Stanley
Can you spot Freddy down there?
Then we went to the Tarkine Forrest for a bit of a look around, but mainly to ride the 110M slide down into the forrest
They grow them trees pretty big out there over the water!
and the top half
Well, that's our first bit of honeymoon! I'll keep it coming a bit later on. A few breweries and distileries, car and steam museums, and if your real lucky some vintage vans spotted still to come!
Andrew
