Yo.. A few months back i recieved a call from a guy who owns a LJ Torana . He wanted to know if he could "borrow"rosie for a day out at Toranafest here in Newcastle. I agreed on the condition that i drop her off and pick her up from the function like all good parents should do with their daughters. ;D He is not getting out of it cheap. I demanded a carton of Tooheys for my efforts. Out of bed at 6 this morning and met scott in at the Harbour foreshore display area. There was already dozens of Toranas on the scene. Scott had his car decked out complete with an old roof rack loaded up with period suitcases. Malleys esky and old surfboard. We hooked Rosie up behind the torana and set up the superchef BBQ, Ritec folding table , Boxing Kangaroo lol about deck chairs.. Even though the van is roughly 20 years older the the car they still looked good together .. sorta like to movie stars hooking up together .. one 20 years younger than the other Scott reckons the TV mob will be all over the show today... so they might end up on the 6.00pm news tonight. I will take some photos when i go back to collect Rosie later today. Will find out then if they have made it on to the telly and what station. Regards Reddo

You are a shameless show off Reddo I like the deck chairs ...... actually the whole display looks real good. Who gets to keep the trophy, you or your mate ....... the mate I reckon, he thought up the idea Cobber.

;D ;D ;D" 'Yep, made the local 6pm news.........I saw it!!!! Me too Humpty And ..may i add.... The only fibreglass in the whole paddock was spoilers and flares on A9x's The Kangaroo deck chairs will be offered as auction items at Coledale Bid hard.. bid often Cobber ." He got to keep the trophy .. and a few car detailing goodies. I got to keep $40 for a carton and $20 worth of fuel money... so.... in dollar terms .. i guess i won . Naaaaaaaa.. the real winner is vintage caravaning mate. Any exposure for our hobby is good exposure. Scott mentioned that a few famous torana drivers .. Shepherd and Firth actually climbed in and had a look around the van. But... i wont be bragging about that either. ;D On the way home me n trish in the old FB with Rosie on behind got in amongst a string of SLR and SS hatchbacks heading up the newcastle link road.. i thought we where doin OK at 110kph and stepping out around them in the overtaking lane... the torana drivers where gob smacked... and that is exactly what Trish done to me when we finally dropped back into the left lane Reddo
