Hi all, I have just bought myself a 1976 Millard caravan, and I'm a total caravan rookie. We've had a lot of rain lately and there's damp and mold in my van around most of the seams. Just wondering if anyone can recommend the best type of sealant to use? Cheers! SB

Hi sassblanch, I have recently completed my first restoration of a bondwood van and found reference to a product in tech advise on this site. I used Sikaflex-pro and quite happy with the result. There are other grades in this line by Sika. It is available at Bunnings, the one i used was $14.95 a cartridge. Hope this has been some help. Regards Bob

Hi SB & welcome to the forum. Yep,Sikaflex is great (that`s what most windscreens are held in by). Come in various colours - black, clear, white etc to suit your decor. Like any of these applications, follow the clean up process accordingly to give you a neat finish. Nothing like trying to clean the excess once it`s set. Or worse, trying to get rid of old sealant. cheers gordon

I prefer sikaflex FC11, bunnings white grey black, but be aware that most sika products are not UV rated. Metho on a rag cleans wet FC11 up a treat, but it's indistructable once dried, though i believe unleaded may soften it, but needs air to help. we use it a lot at the mines as it is tough as all hek but flexible and sticks like u know what.
