Hello everyone out there.
I have recently bought a 1968 Oxford caravan (11ft) which I intend to renovate with the help of my kids (hoping they will be helpful anyway!).
I have no experience but am really keen. I sometimes look at it and think - all it needs is a bit of new wood here and there and a rewire, reline and bobs your uncle. Then I look again and think "Oh my god what have I done?"
I'm hoping that I will be able to use this forum to learn from others experience and expertise. And also pick a few brains.
Looking forward to the adventure!
Cheers
Jayne

Hi Jaynenz, Nice little caravan you have there, although it looks as if you have a bit of work to do before you can head off to the beach - or a Vintage Caravan get together - with your kids. Your van looks very much like a couple of the Crusader caravans shown on the Crusader thread in the Down History Lane section - click here. Crusader vans were built in New Zealand, and apparently for a time in Australia. The reason I mention Crusader vans is that at one time Crusaders and Oxford vans were built by the same company in NZ, so they are at least cousins and - looking at your van - possibly even twins. If you follow the links on the Crusader thread they will lead you to some internal pics of a little van which looks very, very similar to yours. Hopefully they may give you some ideas you can use in rebuilding your van. By the way I notice that your forum handle is "Jaynenz" - does that mean you are located in NZ?? If you are, there are probably some people over there who are familiar with Oxford vans who will be able to help you along the way. Irrespective of whether you are located in NZ or Oz, though, you are very welcome on the forum and we look forward to hearing more about your progress on your van. Don Ricardo

Jaynenz, If there is one thing that you will get on this forum is support. My vintage van is what it is today because of the good-will of the excellent people on here.
I made...and I know I am going to make many a "rookie error", but the members with more knowledge and skill than I have never make me feel inferior. The share their knowledge for the love of the vintage van experience.
I hope that you enjoy it as much as my family are.
