Hello everyone, Was recently reading through an old copy of Caravan World (June 1994), as one does. (Hey, I'm a V V'er - I'm allowed to live in the past!) Came across the article below which I thought you might find interesting. A couple of comments first: - The picture on the first page is especially for Reddo. Just goes to show that 'wood is good', eh Reddo? Maybe you can pick up some decorating tips for your next TD? You've gone for the restrained look for the 20 year project TD. Now you can go for the outrageous. Got to admire the lantern roof, but not sure about the wheels - might blow about a bit on the open road behind the EK!
- Also grab a look at the tow car in the pic in the middle of the second page! Anybody tried to tow a caravan behind a Mini? Perhaps it was one of the later models with the 1275 motor. Pity about the vehicle weight though. Reminds me of a friend of mine who towed all his worldly goods across the Nullabor in the 70's using an overloaded trailer and a ute (think the tray had a bit much in it as well). Came to one point in the road where the trailer decided it should lead for a while, did a neat 180 in the middle of the road and took off with the ute following meekly behind. Reckon the same might happen with the Mini!

Hi Don An interesting read. and confirms what good vint vint vanners have known all along ... timber vans.. the original .. and the best ;D I have the "1899 covered wagon" plans on the "drawing board of Invention ' as we type. It will get further attention once the Imposter TD and the real TD are completed. I will post a picha of the lower half of the wagon shortly. This one will have a "true " canvas roof. Not like those late model poofo 1900s thingys with canvas over ply. gunna havta find tyres to suit sulky rims as well. Cobber and all those on the spring tour seen the trailer/wagon while touring the shed of invention. still carries 'riginal 6 number black and white v.i.c number plate. 2008 spring tour will be a shortened affair as i cant afford to keep the tow horse in tucker for 1000 miles ;D ;D ;D Also have concerns about driving it down bulli Pass. Red wagons ho
