We had a special character arrive at the nats early in the week. A 1949 mayflower came trundling in with a teardrop in tow, tooting his horn (big and loud enough to suit a mac truck) All you could see in the windscreen was a smile that went from the drivers to the passenger side door!!! ;D ;D Out jumped Larry as we came to know him and BOY was he excited. Larry is only just beginning to learn computers and for the last 32 years thought that he was the only raving bloody lunatic in Australia who was into old vintage vans. He bought his first one at age 14yrs and has had many many more since then. He still has sheds full stored every where. To say he was wrapped to find and meet everyone is an understatement of enormous proportions!! He knows now HE IS NOT ALONE ;D ;D He is not yet on the net but will be at Katoomba and coledale and will be/is a great find for our forum. He is super keen, very knowledgeable and experienced in restorations and a top bloke to boot. Welcome aboard Larry. By the way.... I might also mention that Larry is a canvas/annex maker by profession and is dead keen to help any and all members who may be looking for advice on/or a custom annex to be made for their VV at a fair and reasonable price - what a bonus for us!! regards jennison

Gday there Humpy, Somewhere very close to Wangaratta. Not too far for you to visit I'd guess. Sorry I don't know the exact place. He currently has a sunny, a number of teardrops, an expandavan and a highly modified classic as well. Seem to remember he mentioned a modern too. Boblor already has already got in first dibs on the expandavan!! regards

Larry was camped almost directly behind me at the nationals, really nice guy and has a wicked sense of humor! I had never even heard of a Triumph mayflower before and when I first saw his rig I thought it was a Woseley (I know that's spelt wrong lol) of some description. This is the only photo I got of his big rig I also took this one of his little dog "Mitsy" I thought she was just too cute sitting on her little couch with a water bowl and bits of snags in front of her. Urkel and I were making the joke that she looked like a little old man and needed some little slippers and a pipe hanging out the side of her mouth! Let's hope we see him on here soon.
