G'day Cathie, We went to the Heavy Horse Day a couple of years back. It was a great event and would recommend it to anyone interested in Aussie history. We stayed in Killarney View Caravan Park. It,s in the town itself. Phone 0746641522 ......... 55 O'Maras Road Killarney Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

Hi All,
We're not into another trip until after Wintersun in June. The building indusry here is pretty stuffed, & we cant do much until it picks up bigtime. Repairs to my hotrods fans & minor touchups, fixups to Lucille are going to take all my spare time & cash until then.
But you guys get out there & go for it.
The heavy horse days sounds great. Not easy to get to Killarney from here on reasonable roads though. Only reasonable road means up to Gold Coast, out to Warwick, & back to Killarney. The direct road thru Woodenbong is worse than a goat track.
So does Beef Week. Not far on a reasonable road for us.
But you guys need to decide for yourselves, as we discussed at Wadeville. Every should put their effort in.
Something aways floats to the surface

Hi all,
Thanks for a great suggestion Smiles.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it then.
Am supposed to be starting a work contract soon and so until that starts, i'm not sure quite which days I will be working. So better say no for this one.
But if anything is organised for late May, I should be ok for that. ;D ;D

I'm booked for May in the wide bay, I'll be going up Thurs and back Monday. Looking forward to it, provided there's no "Clydette" dress ups to be seen, I'm still recovering from the last one.

Re dates If we have a get together in late May, could we make it the weekend of 5 & 6 June? That's the weekend after Casino Beef Week, so it would have to be somewhere else other than Casino. Imbil? Kilkivan? Q. Mary Falls? Sommerville Valley, Stanthorpe? or even Goomburra?
As to later dates, Rob & I are definitely going to Jondaryan heritage Festival on 27,28 & 29 August, so if anyone else wants to come along, I'll do the bookings for the group if that hasn't been done by anyone else as yet.

Hi Smiles
The weekend 6th june is Wintersun weekend, which again a lot of us go to every year. We normally stay at Kirra Caravan Park.
I would probably only go to Casino Beef Week on the Saturday, if I went at all, because of its proximity to Wintersun. Unfortunately a lot of events clash with one another, so people need to decicide what too attend.
Theres no reason an event cant be held the same weekend as Wintersun if thats what is wanted. It will mean some cant attend that might have wanted to.
Same with Casino, if the group want to camp at Casino, by all means go with it. We may be able to manage it, who knows what transpires.

Hi Smiles...................if you could book the Jondaryan weekend , that would be great...................the lass who I was talking to, said that powered sites would fill up by about May, so we'd better get crackin'........ ...Id say that you could safely book ten or a dozen sites for our group, as there's been quite a lot of interest shown in it so far..........
Thanks, Sutcac

Hi Sutcac
I've emailed Jondaryan about powered sites for 12, for 27 & 28 August, with maybe more vans to come. A group of 12 gets discounted entry into Woolshed, & min camping stay of 2 days means you only buy 1 entry ticket (about $12) into woolshed. i've asked lotsa qq's re pets, wood etc. Cathie

Hi JBJ
Guess you must be going to Wintersun when it starts, rather than on the big parade day 12 June. That's when I'll be working in Emergency at Tweed Hospital.
Just hope all you old jivers don't slip a disc, break a hip or run down your pacemaker battery on that day!
Yes there are a lot of things going on....Casino beef week parade is 29 May...the Old & Gold festival at brunswick Heads on sat 12/6.
My trouble with weekend work is I only get an occasional one off (June 5 & 6). So no worries, we'll wait & see what surfaces. We're thinking of going to Bribie maybe on 5/6 June. Anyone got any info/experience on good places there? the group has been to 1 C/P previously on Bribie, haven't they? Someone at Wadeville volunteered their place at Bribie for later in the year, but don't know if that will happen? Anything further on that?
Cathie

Hi Cathie,
Guess I bombed out again. The main weekend of Wintersun is of course the weekend of 12 &13, like you said. So the weekend of 5 &6 will be available for anything. Boots & I (especially I) are not good enough dancers to be in danger of hurting ourselves, so we probably should be able to avoid the emergency department.
I'm surprised Brunswick Heads has an event the same weekend as Wintersun,

Hi Cathie,
I could possibly be game for a weekend away on the 5th & 6th June.
Will depend on what direction it ends up being in as I am booked into Wintersun from Tuesday 8th.
Anyone else intrested in going somewhere on 5th & 6th?
Regards Di
