Hey all. Am looking at having a week on the sunshine coast at the end of this month. Looking at all the parks everyone's tarriffs are exactly the same , so this only leaves me with the quandry as to which one is the best. Here are my choices 1. Cotton Tree 2. Coolum 3.Mudjimba
I look forward to your opinions and observations Cheers Scoot

Hi Scoot We have stayed at Cotton Tree on several occassions and found it centrally located for walking or driving, it is a large park, we generally stay in the area either side of the access road past the office, you can fish at the park. Cheers boblor

SCOOTMAN
Sutcac has outlined the positives of the parks but I'll throw another one there. Seabreeze at Maroochydore where we were in February last year.
If you get the right spot at Cotton Tree you can be on the waterfront, nice little group of shops around the corner and one of the best fish and chip shops you'll ever find across the road. the Maroochydore surf club is walking distance as well and if you want a place for a cold beer with a view of the ocean this is it. For the more energetic there are plenty of waterfront bike tracks around this park plus you may get to see some kite surfing on the maroochy river. One other bonus here is the Maroochy river one side and a short walk around the corner to the surf beach.
I really liked Mudjimba this year. More shade, good ameneties, pool and barbeque area. Country RSL one way and variety of small shops the other but in other ways a little secluded.
I haven't tried Coolum but for me a lazy few days would be Mudjimba, a bit more active and the fish and chips Cotton tree gets the vote. Rollydog

Scootman, I have just returned from having the Capricorn at Mudjimba. The van was there for three weeks, we were there for two (long story). Everything the others have said is spot on. However, if you want a quiet park that has very, very clean toilets/showers Mudjimba is the one. The toilets were spotless. My wife was amazed at how often they were checked during the day. Coffee is outstanding at the "Lizard" coffee shop around the corner (also important to my wife). The park is a little isolated from the "sunny coast scene" but with three little kids we liked that. It took us about 10 minutes to drive from Mudjimba to the other parks as we broke up some days by swimming and fishing at other locations.
I would never have know about Mudjimba if it wasn't for Rollydog...good on ya mate. I am now off to Fingal Head for some more Capricorn Touring.

Hey all , thanks for all the info. Guess they all have thier pros and cons but none have been given a bad review. Will have to make a choice soon though I do like quiet so maybe Mudjimba will be the go. Cheers All

Scootman You can't go wrong with most places on the sunshine coast but for quiet with good surrounds then Mudjimba is the way to go. We had an area just past the pool at the back of the park which was a great spot yet close to everything. The managers Greg and Janine are really friendly and helpful with places to eat or visit etc. If you are into fishing then the baramundi fishing farm is not far along the road towards Bli Bli as well. Hi Scootman, As far as i'm concerned anywhere on the Sunshine Coast is fantastic. The guys have already given you the low down on each park. But I suppose the deciding factor will be dependant on what you want to do during the day and evenings. You may want to just hibernate by the van or you may want to get out and about. Also perhaps you are bringing kids with you. Besides getting around on foot. Cotton Tree is only about 5 minutes drive from Maroochydore (Movies, Shopping, Restaurants, RSL, Bowls Clubs etc etc) The Maroochydore RSL has a great kids club and free entertainment (music and dancing) for the adults each night. Mudjimba would be about a 10 minute drive from Maroochdore. Coolum - you would perhaps be better driving up to Noosa for evening entertainment. I must also say that you are very brave mentioning to the SEQ crowd that you are going to be in the area. ;D ;D ;D It takes nothing for us to decide to go away for a week or weekend. You may find that a few other vintage caravans turn up. (I'm sure we must be due for another get together). !!!!! Regards Di
