Hi all,
Some great pics of the V V's on show at the Brookton Old Time Motor Show, WA last weekend on the Somewhere Else website today (29 March 2010), courtesy of the Paparazzi duo.
Some vans I've seen before and some I haven't. The Road Cruiser van belonging to Mark T that we've all admired (or is that drooled over?) was towed by a rather nice Chevrolet Biscayne - now we can all drool over that! Another one of Mark's "little" treasures! Where do you find them, Mark?
How about some other pics from other people at the Show - Daggsey, Mark T, anyone?

Thanks for pointing us to those photos on the Some where else blog Don R..... always worth keeping an eye on that site.
The Brookton Old Time Motor Show looks like it had some great Old Time Machinery on display apart from the gorgeous vintage caravans.... good to see some of the W.A. boys promoting the cause
JBJ....Interesting question you ask...............................aye ?
Discussion re vintage van activity in WA was held over this weekend and, whilst I can appreciate the concern and comments made, I can assure you that the issue is being addressed.
Back to the topic..........The Brookton Old Time Motor Show is an event that has been held bi-annually since 1978. Brookton is a small town approximately 120kms south east of Perth (33kms south of Beverley).
The first journey for "Lady Madonna" since the "Big Trip" began late last Friday....................
Getting away late and having to contend with kangaroos and idiots in 4wds with high beam and driving lights blazing is not an option that I enjoy while towing, so a sleepover in Narrogin was the order of the day......these couple of vans are owned by the manager of the caravan park in Narrogin...........
1966 Viscount....
196? baravan............
An early start on Saturday morning....................
up the Great Southern Highway through Popanyinning (say that after a few sherberts )..........
On to Cuballing....................
The destination...........Brookton.....
10 vintage caravans attended this event (not all forum members) and as we saw earlier, papparazzi and mrs papparazzi were present to record the event .
I did my bit with my trusty Olympus and here are some highlights as I saw them.....................
Snail had three of his vans there.........his Franklin behind the Fairlane and Viscount behind the FX............
Some vehicles from the numerous circuits of the oval..........
The Rhodes Ridley............
The Chamberlain group.........
Looking at the show without paying the entry fee..........
Snail, Mrs Snail and Mark T waiting for the stationary motors tp pass ............
A couple of other standouts.................
As the day drew to a close.....................
Just a small selection of the 99 photos I took ;D ;D

Hi Daggsey,
Some great photos there - thanks for sharing them with us. Cobber's right - you haven't lost your knack with the camera.
I'm still trying to work out how Snail got three rigs to the show? I've got visions of him driving one rig 100 metres, running back to the second rig driving two hundred metres, running back to the third rig, driving 300 metres, and so on until he got them all there. ;D ;D ;D
Some pretty interesting things to see by the looks of it. Well worth the journey to get there. As it happens I missed it by a week! I passed through Brookton the weekend before. DOH! (as Homer Simpson would say!)
Apart from the vans, I enjoyed seeing the half-track tractor and the Chamberlains. I seem to remember there's been a few long distance endurance runs done with Chamberlain tractors. Around Australia maybe??
I noticed that there are some more Brookton VV photos on the Paparazzis Somewhere Else website as well today as well.
