Bit of work to do there mate, but if the quality of your other van's anything to go by I rekon you can handle it!
Will be a very cool van when you finish it!

Hi Dave, Ahem...to return to the subject at hand... The van certainly does have the look of a Furness. As far as I can see from the pics the side profile is very "Furnessy", but it clearly isn't one - no sliding windows or door, no internal SA ceiling, interior fittings quite different, etc. Too many differences I reckon to be even a very heavily modified Furness. My guess is that it might be one of those quite rare 'home-made-built-in-the-style-of-a-Furness'. Given it's rarity, it makes it very 'receivable' for the collection, especially when it is donated. The laminex bench tops and cupboard handles probably provide some idea of its age (apart from being 42 years plus!). When did laminex come in? Late 40's, early 50's?? Don Ricardo

Hey Dave, Any freebie is a good freebie! Well, maybe not the one's that make you itch and scratch My vote is: The cooker sat on top of the bench. There's a very long splash back for no apparent other reason. Is that a "vent" above, (the underside of the cupboards) it appears to be an opening, or is that just damage? Perhaps the tap hole has been covered over by some new lino on the bench top at some stage. Having said that, my first can, the Highway, had two tanks, one tapped to the outside at the drawer bar, the other had none.. I never did figure it out... I've seen references to Electrice before, it's ringing a bell, but I can't recall why.... Cheers Chris Cheers Chris
