Yup.. would be nice to know that the owner of the big shed is sweet with us taking over the shed in October.

Bloody difficult for me to ignore the idea when the shed is in my mirrors every time i reverse out the driveway.
Not sure ifthe owner is back from his 10 week cruise on the QE11 just yet ... but will "rekindle " the idea of the fundraiser / vintage van display / getogether with him again shortly with him again in the very near future...
Got stay on the boil... October is closing in fast.

I would like to thank everyone that has replied to this thread so far and indicated their intitail interest in the idea. I am sure most people that have been following this thread have a story to tell of a relo. mate.. or ajn aquaintence that has suffered from...or.. passed away due to this bullshit deasese Cancer.
It totally pisses me off when i see things like N.A.S.A sending probes worth billions of dollars into space looking for .... Christ knows what..... and finding Jack sh!t.
Surely thier money would be better spent on research into finding cures for ailments / life threatening afflictions that effect us every day of the year here on earth.
For Christ sake .. they cant even cure the common cold in 2010

I consider myself one of the luckiest buggers on earth .. my direct family have no history of cancer. Dad died at 88 .. mums still tellin her 3 kids what to do and how to dress.. she is 91.
I have lost a lot of good old fishing/ Biking/ workmates to Cancer.


So.. Keep signing up for this even dudes.
You give me the backing and i will do the ground work.
Even if we loose a few that have stated they can make it up here for the weekend ( work. family committments. just plain broke and cant afford it.. we understand)

How's the shed looking. I guess planning will be full steam ahead after Xmas in July. I have booked holidays for Expo ,Tour and Coledale.

A big thanks for all the support so far for this idea...

Just discussing it with Don Ricardo this arvo over a cuppa on the reddos back verandah.

I still havent contacted Arii again as yet. Sorta been hot and cold with the enthusiasm.
I need to get back on track and get my motivation skates on again.
Have noticed the big sign in front of the sheds has been changed from "For Lease"to "For sale"

To confirm the ( planned) date.. was hoping to get access to the shed on the of the 9th Ocober so we can set up/ camp/ stay overnight in there and throw the rollers doors open to the public 8.00am ish on sunday 11th . Display all day.. close doors about 5.. 5.30 pm and clean up/ have a celebratory BBQ and a few sherbets to unwind.. .
Stay in there again overnight on sunday , then head off about 9.00am Monday on the tour to Nundle..

Once again ... thanks for the interest ... i will let you know whats doin after Xmas in July.....
Just need a rocket stuck up my... to get me orbiting again.

Hi All
I have been thinking about this event and have decided to shelve it for now.
Perhaps come back to it some time in the future ... a few years time maybe.

Sorry for causing any inconvenience or building any expectations for people. Especially like to apologise to anyone that has relatives of friends who are affected by cancer in any of its forms.
I feel i have let you guys down.

As stated before i just cant get up and bubbling along with the idea of organising the event and liasing with variuos people to make it happen.

However.... i will be more than happy to help co-ordinate this years cancer appeal auction and any other fundraising that may be happening at Coledale this year.

To Those of you that where coming up/ down/ sideways to this event and then planning on coming on this years east coast spring tour I have been in contact with a Newcastle caravan park and i am negotiating powered sites for saturday and... possibly Sunday night before heading off on the tour...
Just need to iron out the "dog friendly "clause with the relevant managers.
Again i apologise for the added cost that this may incur on your travelling budget.
I will put up any new info and changes under " Ön the Wallaby- 2010 East coast spring tour " in the next few days.

Don't worry about it mate.. you gave it a good shot and it was always going to be hard to pull together once they put the shed up for sale, no way you could predict if it was going to be available when the time came.
