Hillbilly & I will be departing Perth on Wednesday March 12 for the drive to Mount Gambier. Possible starters also on the 12th are Snail, & Bert & Jan from Bridgetown. The plan is to cover approx 600 to 700 kms per day, 7am start with frequent breaks, and light refreshments about 5:00pm ;D I'll be 'car only' accross the Nullabour, & will be deviating at Ceduna taking the 'Highway 1 alt route' through Streaky Bay to pick up a caravan in Coffin Bay SA...... from there I'll be heading to Cowell through Port Lincoln, & putting the car & caravan on the "SEA SA" ferry accross the bay to Walleroo, then continue the drive to Mount Gambier. I'll be on my own due to Jenni having to run her business. South Australian 1964 "Harris Van" headed for Mount Gambier.

Mark If your leaving on the 14th and doing 600 ks a day the nationals start on the 16th you may be pushing it a bit to arrive there on the 16th What car are you taking ? im thinking if any thing is going to happen to a car it is when you have a tight schedule and when there are vast distances for repairs or help a day extra sounds much like a good thing last time lyn and I went across in the F100 the front end and the car decided to part company and we were held up for three days in Port Augusta Lyn and I had to travel 130 ks to pick up parts and back 130 ks in a loan car we are leaving on the 13th and Taking Lyns fairlane we still have to find a venue for the show(ebtertainment) so if any one is familiar with mt gambier can they email me to let us know iof there is a pub or hall near our Caravan Park or if there is anything that may be of interest

Spose we need to 'convince" the park owners that the disco/kareaoke.. bloody good time , will need to be in the parkand everyone there is welcome to come along and polish there tonsills??? Where is 61 Dodge.. Hi WillnLyn n others too, Having been to Mount Gambier numerous times, the park is at the top of the Blue Lake and "town" is at the bottom - (other end and down the hill). The closest pub would be a 5 min Drive. I am not aware of any halls etc close by. The only thing I know of near the Caravan Park is a golf club, from memory it is next door (maybe ) they may have a club room or something. Otherwise Reddo is right, we will half own the park......Hopefully the managers are reaaal cool! Cheers, Gristy
