hi all just got an email from cliff and ingrid pallister (mustangpal) about this festival. it's held each year on the anzac weekend at mudgee airport. they thought it might be a good opportunity for interested parties to put on a vintage van display at the event and promote our cause. there is no website at this point in time (it will be established soon) but you can get an idea of the event by checking out either of the sites below from last year's event. www.aeroclub.com.au/showev-788-0732ce.html or www.mudgeeaeroclub.hwy.com.au/www07.htmlif you're interested in being part of it, you can contact roy segrott at segrotts@optusnet.com.au geoff 'n jude

Hi Geoff and Jude I might be interested in heading over to Mudgee for this event. Will probably still be getting over Mt Gambier trip . I am a closet plane freak. Still remember the flyover of the 2 pre WW2 planes at ESK a few years ago . Organised by the Shultzys while we where at the SEQ vint van getogether 2006. Dont mind the other 2 "W" s either . wine and wheels are always a good mix. especially if the car keys arent needed at the end of the day....... Reddorangejuiceplease

Hi V V This sounds like a great weekend. I have been approached by one of the organisers for caravans and the CMC. I will contact and find out more about V V display. ;D ;D All the info is not together yet, but won't be long, but if you are considering going book in quick as i know one of the parks is almost booked out already. The Mudgee Riverside park has only 24 Powered sites left. Ph 6372 2531. this is the closest park to Mudgee Shops, I had a tour stay there in March and we had a good time. There are other parks. Most of the WWWW stuff is on the Saturday that i know of so far with some activities also organised for Sunday. There is also a dinner being organised for the Saturday night. I have booked a Motel up the road for the CMC clubs anyone who wishes to join us you are welcome. The group I am organising are having a BBQ on the Friday night if anyone wants to join us John cannot join us and I'm not confident enough to tow the van behind the Chevy that far. So will see you there somewhere. I will keep you posted on more details as they become available. ;D Lynelle

Hi All The WWWW ;D ;D are very interested in having V V's on display . They are chasing up somewhere involved in the show and that you may be able to stay & display for the weekend. they have also asked for some photo's. If anyone is seriuosly thinking of attending regardless of the final display details, would love photo's of your van & tow vehicles. Please let me know on this site. Lynelle

Hi All another update for the Mudgee WWWW :Dweekend. They are trying to set up the vans in an area where you can stay and display without having to move around. Is this good? They so far have parachutes, Helicoptors, planes, cars and everything is looking really good. They are after photo's of any vans that may be attending for their publicity. If anyone is going please let me know so we can also be promoted. This will be a great venue to be out and about for the vintage vans. Ticko's

Hi Mustangpall
Are all the vans vintage? Do you want to display as part of the show or just visit the show. I have had no other replies as yet, but can follow up for you or if you want to be part of the show, or book into one of the Caravan parks yourself. I have a group of cars staying at the Cudgegong Motel, the Mudgee Valley Tourist park is across the road from the Motel. We have stayed there before and a good park. Let me know Ticko's

Hi Lynelle Providing i still have a liver after Mt Gambier and the ute gets me home without any dramas i will probably attend be at Mudgee. I will not require an overnight site at the display. I will book into Mudgee Valley tourist Park and motor on out there on Anzac day Friday 25th April. Stay the night in the van park and then head over to the display on saturday morning, According to the info in the links provided on your earlier posts i need to be through the gates and in place by no later than 9,00am. That is achievable providing i dont relive the war days with the natives in the van park on friday night and have too many sherbets. I will ring the event coordinator and book a spot next to Cliff and ingrids crew for saturday... Dont want it being an "all fibreglass show " now do we ;D ;D ;D ;D If the organisers ask you for a photo then let me know and i will send em one. I will phone them today and get organised. Is anyone else keen?? Remember you get the friday off '......Anzac day. That gives you all day to drive out there.Stay at the exhibition or over in the van park with Mwaa. All day at the event. stay back in the van park on saturday night and drive home sunday... vevvvvvveeeerrrrrryyyyyy laid back weekend. Regards Reddo

I have just emailed the events co-ordinator to get some more info on Mudgee Weekend. Reddo do you know how many unpowered sites are left in the caravan park? Do you have phone numbers for them? We do have a generator we can use if we have too, I know its not the done thing but we have to keep the drinks cold. Mustangpall.

Hi Tickos Had a long hard think about all the running around i do without Trish. She said that its cool if i wanted to go... I feel brownie points are needed before i escape from home on a motorbike, in a car or on another vintage van trip... " We do have a generator we can use if we have too, I know its not the done thing but we have to keep the drinks cold." That reminds me ...i have a few things to fix here in the shed anyway. Wishing everyone that does make the trip a happy and enjoyable weekend. Reddo ;D .

Hi all, We are going to go to Mudgee after all, along with some friends and their vint van. Just love those wineries !!!! ;D ;D Have spoken to Dan and got all the info. There appears to be quite a few things organised over the weekend (not just the Wings, Wheels and Wine event), so it sounds like it should be very enjoyable. Apparently the Aero Club haven't been given as much space by the council as expected and therefore there isn't room for us to put our vans on display with the others. That's fine, we are late organising it anyway. For those that might be thinking of going at this late date. I spoke to Ian at Mudgee Valley Tourist Park yesterday and have managed to book powered sites. Apparently they had a booking from a car club for 40 sites and when they received the confirmation the other day it was only for 21 sites, so they now have some powered sites after all - bonus. Cliff, Ingrid (and friends), it would be great to meet up. Not sure if you will all have your vans on display? If so, will see you on the day. If not, perhaps you can PM me with the details of where you are staying and we can touch base. Lynelle, will speak to the others about joining you and the car group on the Friday night for the BBQ. Which car club/group is it? Regards Diane and Alan
