I'm sure this subject has come up before somewhere in the dim and distant past, but there seems to be a trend of making thread titles as obtuse as possible. Subject headings like "Old vans" or "Does anyone know" really doesn't give any clue to the subject, and when members want to select topics that interest them without having to read the letter itself, it's a very time consuming thing, especially those of us on dialup internet access.
So how about thinking of what title you give to the subject when you write a thread. It also helps when doing a search for a particular topic. It would always be good where possible, for instance, to mention the brand of van in the title in the members' vans section.
The Whatever section is not that relevant to this topic to my mind.

Hi Neil,
I think it would be true to say that we have encouraged people to set up a thread on their van or the restoration of their van in the Members Photo Album section, and then add to it as they go along. This means that new and old members can look at the thread and see the whole story from go to whoa without having to chase all over the forum for the different threads relating to the same van. This is what JBJ and Reddo did with the threads Firefighter referred you to.
If you need to ask a question about a particular problem or issue you strike along the way, you can ask it as part of your Members Photo Album thread, but you can also start a new thread just for the question in the Technical Info section or the General section (and this second option is sometimes the best way to get answers).

Hi Neil,
Your Carapark 16/2 thread has been moved to the Members' Photo Album section as requested.
...and Ray,
Your comment that started this thread - about giving as much useful info in thread titles as possible - is a valuable reminder to us all. Thanks.
