G'day Greedy, I tried to drum up a bit of support for that doo last year..... put on a "Vintage Caravan" display...... the date clashed with another event so only one bloke turned up with two 'vans... ME ........... But I had a great time ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D They have those field days each May and October...... good opportunity for Sydney siders to bung on a V C display Cobber.

Hey Cobber I remember reading your account of the weekend you had at Campbelltown back in May. As much as i enjoyed Canton Beach ( i nearly didnt go) i think i would be happier coming down to Campbelltown next year instead of Canton. Its only around 2 hours from Lake Mac. Are you allowed to camp overnight... and... here comes the clincher to seal the deal. .. Are you allowed a campfire .. dont need power.. just a Bushmans TV ( as Daggsey Calls it) to stare at and keep warm while having a few Ports.. ... May can be cool. Reddo

Reddo mate, Just go back to page 2 of this thread and see the sort of camp fire these folk like to have..... and Damper.... and sing-along entertainment..... all beside two big steam engines that puff along quietly turning generators that provide lighting...... some of the time , and if you don't like the hustle and bustle you can sit in a corner and do you're own thing........ there's no rules...... and yes.... everybody camps over-night. Look what you've started Greedy Cobber. Come to think of it.......... we'll all be preparing for the Nationals at Mildura in May, will have to wait until October for the next Campbelltown steam festival. But then.... there is the "Lake Goldsmith" steam festival down near Ballarat that is on the weekend before the Nationals... in fact they also have a rally later this month, see their web site here. Cobber.
