Bought sway bars etc for the pathfinder but I do not think they will fit. I think I will need the type with the chains on the end that hang below the height/level of the draw bar as there is no way the std bars will come up high enough to sit in the draw bar brackets any ideas??

G'day Jeff,
You probably need the set up I have on Ol'36 and Driftwood.... cut a slot in the brackets to hook the chain into.
Works well on Driftwood.. but I do have a problem with it on Ol' 36 because of it's short draw bar .... the end of the bars scrape going over some of the ridiculously high "speed humps" some places have.
I'll get a photo if you need it.
Cobber.

Hi Jennison.Maybe you need a set-up like this. This unit i bought originally for the (now sold) Landy. It is a Ford item. From centre of tow ball point to end of bar is 650mm. Chain length is 400mm. Brackets suit square channel up to 75mm W x 100mm. cheers gordon

Hi Jennison
Just a reminder that the correct way to fit the bars is from underneath the "D" that they fit into ( which is held by the towball).. I have seen a lot of early bars fitted with the "hoops" on the bars .facing upwards.
Later sway bars fit ok that way ... but the one bar each side set up is designed to fit up from underneath.
True... they scrape on driveways etc... thats why they redesigned em to fit from the top later on. Reddo

All Interesting stuff fellas, I will bring them to coledale and see what you think but the chain set up like cobbers looks most likely the go. Mitchell caravans would have sold me a factory setup the same but I will do like cobbers I think and just cut a notch in the bracket to take the chain. thanks to all jennison Ps Reddo dare I admit its a newer type of setup which fits from the top as far as I can see! I'll just go wash my mouth with soap!!!....
