I received the paperwork in the mail today, very early this year aye ? Vintage caravans always attract a great deal of attention and it's a great way to promote the cause. Anybody with a car made before 31st December 1980 can register to attend....... click here to find the registration form. Cobber.

Thanks for that Cobber
Likewise anyone with anew car that wishes to tow and display thier Vintage caravan should fill out an entry form stating the vans details and express that they want to be imcluded in the vintage caravan group numbers.
I strongly urge anyone that is considering entering to go ahead and do it. Each year we struggle to hold our ground at this event. Numbers have been as high as 14 and as low as 8. I have attended most of them and i am not overly keen on going in 2010.. but if it means going along due to the lack of entrys ( call it apathy if ya like) and promoting our hobby .. then i will. If we end up relinquishing our turf then we will have bugger all chance of getting back in .. in the future....Think about it... seriously.
Just do it. Reddo

G'day Rob,
Motorfest is on the 26th January..... Australia Day.
It's a big day with lots of celebration events going on, plenty of entertainment for the kids.
We are usually parked near the entrance to the Botanic gardens...... it would be good to see you there.
Cobber.

Just to remind you all..... and resurrect this thread, Motorfest works on the principal of .... first in first served.
If you intend being part of the Vintagecaravans.com display let them know that is the club you wish to display with..... and you should do it real soon or you may miss out.
Cobber.

G'day Dave & Tammy,
We don't know at this point how many have registered, but it doesn't matter... you are very welcome to join us and the motorfest organisers will fit us in no worries.
Vintage Caravans are very popular with the spectators.. and the NRMA know it.
Don't forget, if you register on line to tick the box asking if you want to park with your club and nominate "Vintage caravans.com" as your club.
See you there..... it will be great to have a new face or two in the line up.
Cobber.

A big Australia Day... G'Day to the 4 forum members doin us proud at this years NRMA Motorfest. Way down on the usual numbersof around 10... Hope the weather stays kind and you all have a great day. With Maurie , Cobber , Tickos, and Dave n tammy praising the virtues of vintage vanning to the assembled masses we will see renewed enthusiasm , new members signing up to the forum.....unfound treasures surfacing...and a big roll up at Motorfest 2011. Have a great day out guys... do us proud. I am heading to Maitland Park towing Rosie along with the 48 to 78 Holden car club.'.. Hunter Valley branch. Similar to Motorfest,, but i can get out of bed at 7.00am and still be in place by an 8.00am start. Its all fun Reddo

OK Reddo.... don't rub it in, she's a long day at Motorfest. Be there at 7 am and not allowed to leave before 5 pm Belinda will be there too and somebody from another forum has booked three spots again, so that makes eight vintage 'vans flying the flag........ we could do better Cobber.

For forum members who don't go to Motorfest the photos each year must look the same as last years. This year there were two new old caravans for the fans to look at . These photos were taken before the crowds arrived. Dave & Tammy's colour coordinated rig attracted plenty of attention and they have said they will be back again next year . (sorry about the reflections there D & T ) And the first appearance of Kate's 1947 Sportsman was a hit with everybody.... people do know the difference between genuine vintage and a reproduction..... especially young ladies in red And then the usual “show offs” were there... but they attract a new and appreciative audience every year and renew friendships with people who come every year to say G'day. The Tickos Belinda & Rob, vantourer Cobber So....... only six 'vans this year which is a bit disappointing, but the two new ones made up for those that weren't there. Cobber.

Hi Cobber.. Thanks for dropping a few pictures of Motorfest on here for us Dave and Tammys rig looks great.... Made for each other. Also pleasing to see the "driftwood"workhorse getting a bit of a showin and the adoration it deserves rather than that other pommy show pony ya lug about sometimes.. ;D ;D Love the TD Maurie and Kate. Also good to see the illawarra contingent make the annual pilgramage up too. Tickos must have the Chev running Ok after the motor woes they mentioned earlier. Vantoura betta watch out.. I know a certain Penelope Propert Cruz that is nursing a few busted ribs. Lock the green dice to a tree Trodler.... Reddo

G'DAY COBBER , WELL , ANOTHER MOTORFEST OVER WITH , WHAT A HUGE DAY ! THANKS OLD COBB FOR PUTTING THE PHOTIES UP OF OUR TEARDROP ON ITS MAIDEN VOYAGE AND BOY-O-BOY WAS'NT IT A HIT WITH ALL THE PUNTERS ON THE DAY , A REAL CROWD PLEASER ! I HAVE BEEN AFTER AN ORIGINAL TEARDROP FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS BUT AS YOU KNOW THEY ARE A RAREITY , ESPECIALLY IN N.S.W , AND I AM VERY PLEASED ITS A SPORTSMAN . WE HAVE HAD IT ABOUT SIX MONTHS AND HAVE BEEN DOING IT UP AS WE GO HAVING USED IT THREE TIMES IN THAT PERIOD , AND HAVE ALSO MANAGED TO CHECK THE SUSPENSION AS WELL , NUDGE-NUDGE . I MUST BE ON A WINNER WITH THE TEARDROP AS KATE HAS BEEN MORE INVOLVED THAN USUAL WITH THE RESTO ,SHE PICKED THE COLOUR , HELPED WITH THE PAINTING AND EVEN MADE A CUSHON FOR THE SHOW TO PUT IN THE TD , I THINK SHE APPROVES , YEAH !! ;D ;D I WILL SEE IF I CAN GET HER TO TOW IT NEXT BEHIND ONE OF THE HUMPIES .................
