hi geoff we have an antsig omni-directional antenna. we have had it since we got 'the ritz' and used it in various parts of sa, vic and nsw and have never had a problem with bad reception. being omni-directional, it doesn't need to be pointed toward any transmitters and it comes with a signal booster and splitter for when you want to watch tv inside or outside. we also send the signal through a digital set-top box, which means we have always been able to get excellent reception without any shadowing. the set-top box does cause some pixilation from time to time, but that is usually because of bad atmospheric conditions. (sounds a bit complicated but it is a very simple antenna to put up, just shove it on the pole and connect the antenna cable and 'bob's your uncle'. highly recommend them. have a look at it here.geoff 'n jude

Masthead amp. Anolog and digital reception?? "Poltec 25".?? Antsig omni-directional antenna??? Set-top box Ahhhh.. nothing like "getting away from it all"...... and taking it all with you As Gomer would say.. "Shame, shame, shame" My TV antenna in my VINTAGE CARAVAN... broke years ago.. ... no.... hang on a minute... ...come to think of it .... .. it never had one ;D For entertainment I now make do with a AM valve radio (AWA) deck of playing cards ( Queens slipper) , Monopoly ( original in pounds , shillings and pence), magazines ... or a good book ( anything by Keith Winser )... ...or... even better..... a good woman ;D Reddo

The "Wife" is the reason we have TV. I hate it! I'll watch the news and that is about it, the ads drive me nuts! On our modern caravan (yes, I'll wash my mouth out! ) we have satellite TV, being SelecTv. Now that has a Discovery Turbo channel that I do like ;D It is full of Hot Rods, Cars and Planes! Cheers, Ron

there's nothin' wrong with owning a modern caravan Ron, so long as its parked next to your vintage caravan ............ its a bit like owning modern cars .....wouldn't be without mine .....they're great for chasing vintage caravans 'round the countryside ...... I gotta lead the other day on a Sunliner for sale, the bloke thought it was a 72 Olympic, so I had to get there quick before " the cat was outta the bag" ......did a 250km rush trip from Beverley to Muchea (100k north of Perth) through tight twisty roads in light drizzling rain ....the 06 v8 Caprice was jus' bewdiful as for TV's ......who cares ......so long as you've got the laptop, with a wireless net modem, so you can keep an eye on the vc.com forum, ebay, and the news ......plus the missus can watch a DVD on it .....if she needs a 'fix' ;D ;D Mark

.... and there's draughts, checkers, dominoes, Ludo.... snakes and ladders...fiddle sticks, monkeys in a barrel, colouring in books for the intellectually challenged.... ummm.... i got barrred from using the skipping rope and hula hoop in the van.. smashed all the light fittings and knocked all the crockery off the shelf... Cant wait to tell the missus i just won a pogo stick on ebay to use in the van.... ;D TV... whats that ??... sounds like some sort of electronically transmitted sexual desease...... I get one hour at home... 6 till 7 to watch the news.. after that there aint anything worth watching thats free to air... Australias got a buncha losers that cant sing........ A bunch of has been actors that cant dance... a whole heap of fat people who wanna get skinny and win money... I can certainly get by without it on Vintage van trips..... Now let me finish packing... rabbit traps, ferrets and nets, fishing rod, Lithgow single shot .22..........ammo Reddo

Just as long as they stay away from the "Horizontal Hold " Knob. We here at www.vintagecaravans.com .... run a clean show i will have ya know. At the risk of getting "shunted" yet again. . here is an old motorcycle joke that is antenna related. There is a British motorcycle company called "Ariel".. The jokes goes something like this.. "2 Ariels got married The Guests reported that the ceremony was crap..... But the reception was brilliant... Groooooooooooooooooaaannnn!! Bye Reddo
