Sorry guys, but scratch us from making it this year. The van has just been weighed and now i've got to fit a new brake axle to it for it to get registered. At the moment funds and time just don't work in our favour, so we'll give it a miss this time. Have a great weekend all and enjoy yourselves!

Terrific photos. The people that were unable to attend missed a truly great weekend.
Thank you to Doug & Vicki for being the welcome party as people arrived. The happy atmosphere continued throughout the weekend.

Great pics, Max. Thanks for posting them. I couldn't get there this year, but at least I've now had a taste of what was on show. I gather from the comments higher up on the thread that HAD708's Phoenix collected a prize, which is terrific. It's a great looking van after its reno. Well done. Who collected the other awards?? While we're at it, can Max or anyone else who attended tell me a bit more about this van: It looks unusual in that it seems to have a built in step. Does it belong to a forum contributor or anybody that we know? Don Ricardo

Congrats to the Victorian vintage vanners ......again, you have displayed some stunning caravans, ......and car / caravan combinations ......the finish on majority of the caravans is just supurb I wanted to make the trip to Coral Lynn this year, but didn't book a cheap Virgin ticket early enough .....no doubt the Virgin air ticket prices were greatly increased due to the demand for tickets from people flying from all over Aus to view the car / caravan show at Coral Lynn ;D ;D Aren't the Buick and Airstream are a stunning combo Mark

Hi Don yes it was a great weekend hopefully you can make it next year. The van is a Hawthorn & it has got a built in step. When we got it the front & rear leadlights were all broken so we had them replaced ,it also needed a full resto. We sold it to a friend who is a forum member to buy no. 70/345 Propert which we took to Cora Lynn. G'day Doug & Vicki and Max, Thanks for the info and extra photos of the Hawthorn. I should have made the connection between the van and Doug & Vicki, but the last time I saw pics of this van it was in serious bits - spread around a carport if I recall!! However, now it's another beautiful D & V restoration. Well done you two, and congratulations to the new owner! As I said I was fascinated by the internal step - not too many manufacturers in the 40's, 50's and 60's seem to have taken this approach, although it is not uncommon in modern vans. The only photo of the kerb side of a leadlight Hawthorn van we have on the forum doesn't have the same step arrangement, so it must have been added to the design (or deleted) at some point. Now - another question...can anyone tell me about this van? Is it a Flynn? [Sorry for all the questions. Just shows I should have been there! ;D ;D ;D] Don Ricardo

yes it is owned by my wife and myself and was first built in 1954 and registed in 1956 and was towed by a 1948 packard and marilyn stevenson's father was a engineer who built it he was a very fussy man and the build quality is exceptional, it's amazing how many people looked at it numerous times to buy it and didn't. it only weighs 1.5 tonnes but behind the wifes 1967 ford galaxie coupe it pulls fine.we are very happy with the van and intend to enjoy it with our twin boys, and thanks very much col for the great towbar and the nice remarks about our 1967 ford galaxie, and to all the people who are going to the mildura vintage van nationals ,we will be there. ;D
