Hi 56vicky and other interested Cora Lynn participants. An update for you on Cora Lynn "The Last Of The Chrome Bumpers" Country Car Show. We are hoping to make this the largest gathering of Vintage caravans in Victoria, or Oz! The grounds will be opened for camping on Friday afternoon 2nd October from Midday and the Cora Lynn committee have kindly made available their social rooms for showers and toilets once again. There are no powered sites. The price for camping will be $10 per adult, children free(this includes one goody bag per caravan) For those arriving on Sunday, just for the day, it will be free entry for car, van and driver and $5 per other adults, children free. To find Cora Lynn take the Pakenham By Pass to Nar Nar Goon turnoff, proceed through the township of Nar Nar Goon along Seven Mile Rd until you reach Bunyip River Rd on the left. Take this road which ends at Cora Lynn and proceed to the Recreation Reserve. Melways KEY MAP page 14, R 15. This year we expect the event to be even bigger than last and we have some added attractions for everyone to enjoy. Please contact me, Dennis, event co-ordinator if you require any further information. We made it with our Courtney caravan last year and looking forward to taking it along again this year for the whole weekend. It was interesting to find out more information about our van via the forum, thankyou. Hope to see and meet many of you at Cora Lynn. We really need to have confirmation if you are planning to camp so could you please contact us by phone on 0409861088 on or before the 12th September if possible. Does anyone know the largest number of Vintage caravans at a gathering at any one time in Australia? Dennis & Karen-Anne dj32

Yo
"Does anyone know the largest number of Vintage caravans at a gathering at any one time in Australia? Dennis & Karen-Anne dj32"
From memory we had 40 vint vans at the 2008 Nationals- Mt Gambier. Also had 49 vans in 2007 at Coledale + one guy turned up towing a small TD with his Harley trike...
Someone will set me straight if i am wrong with these tallys. Jude... of "Geoff and Jude " fame would be able to confirm this.
Hope this helps Reddo

This looks like the event if its dry to trial the "yet to be used" annex. So if there are some who would like to assist a newbie to caravans and prevent 'high anxiety' with tips and/or some muscles, I would appreciate it. see you there on the Saturday, some time...

Hi all, I did make mention earlier in this thread that I would be at Cora Lynn without a van as I didn't have one, but that has all changed now, in case some of you have missed the news you can catch up with it here, vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general08&action=display&thread=4845I will be taking her down to the reserve late Saturday arvo and will still be there with my trailer on the Sunday, I spoke to Dennis and I will have it on display as I did with my trailer last year so that the public can appreciate what we fools do with our spare time and spare cash

Well due to work committments, I'll be in and out all weekend..... My plan at this stage will be to stay Friday night, work sat, stay sat night, work sun and be back mid arvo..... Due to all the running around, the Humber won't be getting to the run this year Looking forward to catching up/meeting everyone in the few hours that I'll be there! Cheers, John
