Its with great pleasure I announce that we have a new forum moderator . Retro1 is one of our earliest members (August 2004) and initially took us on one of the most interesting restoration projects the forum has seen to date, with the restoration of his bondy Castle caravan called ' Diner2" vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photo&action=display&thread=1140The Castle restoration project had in excess of 10000 views . Retro1 is not a huge poster on our forum in terms of 'No of posts', but is a talented caravan restorer (and home rennovator as I recently witnessed) and one of our most valued forum members with his knowledge, and willingness to assist other members with tips on their restoration projects. Retro1 (Adam) and his lovely wife Christine have attended both the Vintage Caravan nationals, in Morgan 2006 and again at Mount Gambier in 2008. I welcome Retro1 to the forum as a moderator, I'm sure he will "add value" to the great forum we already have, and will be a fair & respected moderator. He will have 'the power' to manage members, and their activities . cheers Mark Administrator

Hi Adam ( & Chrissy)
Congratulations. Guess this may mean you need to get a bit more involved on the computer side now. It was nice catching up to you at Wintersun as always.

and whilst on the subject of moderators, I would like to welcome back JBJ to the moderating team JBJ was a moderator until recently when the forum ran into some problems, and did a fantastic job last year with our membership cleanup, plus the cleanup of many old & obsolete posts. JBJ is well known on the forum for his excellent restoration / modification work, his latest creation being 'Lucille' , and a thread that has had in excess of 13000 views JBJ is also known to many of us from the many runs he & Boots attend on the vintage van scene. So, welcome back JBJ We are now back to a full moderating team, which should guarantee the success and continuation of this great forum that we all enjoy Mark Administrator

Thanks for the warm welcome as a moderator As Mark has stated I have been on this site for nearly five years and have seen alot of things in the world of vintage caravaning. Of all the things I enjoy the most is the friends that I have made over the years and being able to help or give advice to other V-vanners plus the project that we all have. I don't post a lot of comments as I enjoy reading other peoples stories and looking at there restorations. When I do post comments I like to keep them as factual as possible and posted in the right sections. I do this as other people (besides regulars) view this site from all over the world and thus making it easier to read for everyone. If anyone needs me for a "moderating" comment or for help in there project I am available by PM (personal message). I am not on the net everyday or night so please be patient I will try my best to get to your message. I like this site pretty much the way it is and hope I can assist Mark (and other moderators) in doing this in the future. Wishing me the best of luck Cheers retro1

Congrats retro1, Also JBJ, you fellows to a great job & it is sure appreciated by people like me. I must say that after retiring from general work 2 years ago & feeling somewhat lost, I have finally settled into a hobby I am really enjoying, and it all started when I wrote my 1st letter in this forum & Don Ricardo replied. Mark T found me a van, the rest is history! Thanks again for what you all do there behind the scenes, its all in good & capable hands ;D. I will be pestering you with questions from time to time Surf Tragic

Yes Retro 1, I'll wish you good luck & I'm sure you guys will continue to do a great job, and like yourself I like the site the way it is, no need to reinvent the wheel here!
Some one told me once "We can't change the past, but we have the power to change tommorrow" Thats why I knocked a hole through my garage wall last weekend cause I didn't do it the day before, so I had the power to do it the following day!
Ended up with a good result actually & I acheived lots in that day, Lil Hampton has a bed to sleep in, soon she'll have water via a copper water tank I bought which fits under the seat, & won a heap of pre-war cylinder lights with curved glass etc on ezyway!
Anyway, if you've got a plan you rarely go wrong, keep up the fantastic work that you are doing boys & girls, we appreciate it!
Kaz n Adam
